People nowadays spend less time engaging with others in their neighborhood. Many individuals do not have enough time to interact with their neighbors because of the development of technology and the globalization era, which has a detrimental impact on communities and personality. This is because most people are moving their residences more frequently, many individuals are busy with their daily lives to maintain a decent level of living, and people are likely to spend a significant amount of time on the Internet. This indicates that humans are social creatures. In the same way, humans seek touch with people for support, happiness, and enjoyment. As individuals’ personal lifestyles grow increasingly transient and reliant on digital technologies, these fundamental relationships may be interpreted as under assault. Nothing beats living in genuine communities and spending actual physical time with the people we care about.

To begin, some of these may be discussed, including people's desire to move more frequently. Today, many individuals, particularly young, relocate from town to town in search of higher education or better work possibilities. Therefore, these people do not have enough time to develop relationships with those who live nearby. It is possible to observe that some of these people are unable to forge strong connections with their neighbors that can lead to a lack of trust in one another and can be harmful to someone's physical well-being. This is supported by Meaghan McDonough's article. It states that individuals who lack trust in the community might be bad for their physical health. In another study, Eileen Avery, a sociologist at the University of Missouri, discovered that people who see their neighbors as trustworthy estimate their own health higher than those who do not.

Moreover, a reason for not knowing or engaging with one's neighbor is a desire to improve one’s personal standard of living. Many people want to live a luxurious life, particularly in cities. Hence, people regularly work overtime or 24 hours a day, seven days a week to achieve this. According to the research part's heterogeneity written by Marloes M. Hoogerbrugge, May 21, 2018, compared to the results for working people, individuals on welfare and retired people have a substantially larger link with life satisfaction. Researchers find strong, positive, and significant associations between both social contacts and cohesiveness in terms of life satisfaction for both categories. This finding can be explained by the tendency of people who are retired or on welfare to spend more time in their area and rely more on their neighbors and local resources to be compared to others who are preoccupied with their daily lives.

Next, while social media has significantly helped society, having too much of a good thing may always have terrible consequences. This is because most people nowadays choose to spend their free time on social media platforms such as Facebook or WhatsApp. This conveys that addiction is typically triggered by excessive use of technology, notably among adolescents and adults. As a result, people in the community have fewer ways to connect with neighbors. As can be seen in, according to a Facebook poll, 85 percent of people living in cities don't know a person who lives next door, since some are too busy with their daily work and others are interested in spending their time checking a message on WhatsApp and chatting with their friends on Facebook. However, this is also supported by an article written by Tracii Ryan, Kelly A. Allen, DeLeon L. Gray and Dennis M. McInerney, 25 May 2017, where the authors show evidence that excessive use of social media may lessen the advantages of intimate connections and increase melancholy. The displacement theory contends that the time spent socializing on the internet detracts from valuable offline social contacts and has a negative impact on psychological well-being.

In conclusion, a good neighborhood is needed to have a happy life. The neighborhood is essential, and it has a huge impact on community life. Bad relationships with neighbors can be a major issue, as it affects our health and the community around people. Neighbors are more helpful than family. That is because they live close by and are more likely to help each other in an emergency. Positive interactions with neighbors may help oneself and others in the community's life. Everyone can be a good neighbor. People around the neighborhood only need a little effort, and the rewards are well worth it. Neighborhoods with a stronger sense of community have a higher quality of life. Communities with a stronger sense of community have a better quality of life. As a result, all people should have a good and positive relationship with their neighbors for the sake of themselves, their families, and the people around them.
