"Anyone who moved through those years without understanding that man produces evil as a bee produces honey, must have been blind or wrong in the head.”(Golding 1).  In the New World Encyclopedia it stated that from William’s perspective he witnessed the evil that the real world could produce due to him playing the role of being a Naval officer during World War II. People in battle during this period were showing the true beast that humankind could live up to. They treated people like objects or things rather than something that was clearly alive. So what do you think Golding has to say about the evil happening in the Lord of the Flies and how he conveys his ideas to the reader?

To set about, the service caused him to flip his view completely on how he visualized others. It gave William a darker and truer outlook on how existence in this world could truly be and built his book around it. Therefore, he wanted to convey how even young English kids that were well behaved individuals could turn into utter savages when left alone with no enforced rules to hinder them from manufacturing the wrong decisions. Furthermore, he also uses particular characters and objects to demonstrate his main theme or ideas of being sinful throughout the novel. Such as with Jack and Ralph he tries exhibit with these characters is how they are different people who look at things in different degrees like the need to be savage and live in a civilized way it just depends on their perspective. Their conflicting aims for the island makes them strive from trying to work as a team to becoming more and more disorganized as the novel progresses. Then Jack starts to drift and wants to go off with his choir boys who are a so-called group of hunters. That’s when the choir goes from loving voices to demonic figures. From there on out Golding tries to transport a deeper meaning of evil.

Consequently, Jack and the group part from the rest they try to seek for the beast that they had been fearing to offer it a peace offering with a pig's head on a stick. Later that evening Simon went wandering off into the forest due to it being his favorite place. All that took a turn when Simon encountered the pig and the pig head started to pass him a message through his hallucination. The one of the many things he said was “Fancy thinking the Beast was something you could hunt and kill!” said the head. For a moment or two the forest and all the other dimly appreciated places echoed with the parody of laughter. “You knew, didn’t you? I’m part of you? Close, close, close! I’m the reason why it’s no go? Why are things the way they are?”(Golding 142) With this saying that Willaim wrote it foreshadowed that later Simon would die by attempting to tell the boys about the pig head’s message and that the beast they depicted to be was actually a dead soldier. They ended up killing him for misinterpreting him as the beast which goes back to the quote that the darkness that the Lord of The Flies had was embodied into every single one of them that's why things are folding the way they did.

Moreover, as time passes in the novel Jack’s group of individuals begin to out way the people on Ralph's side. Jack’s group has started to act out, becoming more like their leader in killing with no mercy. As they departed they didn't think that they would be losing a key component which was Piggy’s glasses. Those glasses were utilized as the only principle to form a fire for signal,to keep warm, and heat up pig meat. When they realized how of a key object it was they made their way to go and purloin them for themselves. Then Piggy,Ralph,Sam,and Eric travel to Castle Rock to endeavor to get the glasses back. As they come onto the scene and they demand for the glasses to be returned to rightful owners something unpredictable comes along. "The rock struck Piggy a glancing blow from chin to knee: the conch exploded into a thousand white fragments and ceased to exist. Piggy, saying nothing, with no time for even a grunt, traveled through the air sideways from the rock, turning over as he went. Piggy fell 40 feet and landed on his back across the square red rock in the sea. His head opened and stuff came out and turned red. Piggy's arms and legs twitched a bit, like a pigs after it had been killed"(Golding 181). Golding employed the once Rodger that couldnt throw a single rock at an individual to murdering a person. William left out no details to give entail on how brutally he passed. The evil came out of one of the unexpected and with no flinch in sight for taking a once breathing soul.

Lastly, as the story begins to fade towards the end the boys are at the peak of their inner beast. They start to try and track down Ralph so that they can finish him off since Jack unsuccessfully tries to kill him the night Piggy died. As they look for him they set a forest fire that is then seen by a Naval Vessel. Ralph's run to the beach and was timely saved by the officer from the boys who once were young innocent people. ”Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man’s heart, and the fall through the air of a true, wise friend called Piggy.”(Golding 202)  They were school boys in the past but now they start a fire and chase Ralph with spears to put an end to him. Golding expresses even with their best effort to try to stay civilized humans cause self destruction no matter what. Ralph even noticed that he too had a darkness that he conveyed on that island like all the rest of them.

To conclude, Golding's writings suggested that any could develop evil tendencies. He conveyed that by showing how over time humans start to lose it. They had no means to go that extra step in becoming their worst version of themselves. They abused the meaning of power along with that no know was present to put an end to their outward behavior. Golding just wanted to give the message crystal clear that no matter how you view someone they can end up being a frightful nightmare because that's just our nature.
