Electronic communication is less effective than face to face communication because it takes away from offline interactions, people might not represent themselves truthfully online, also face-to-face will help you more in the future.
To begin Online communication takes away from offline interactions. The more time an individual spends on Electronics , the less time they have to engage with friends along with family members in real life. This may lead to a degeneration of the social skills necessary to engage in real-life interactions. (Source- doi.org) These statements clearly show that if you spend too much time on electronics you will lack social skills in real-life situations.
One important reason is, people might not represent themselves truthfully online. It's easier to misrepresent oneself online than it is during a face-to-face encounter. It’s possible to re-write and edit text endlessly, whereas a slip of the tongue once said cannot be taken back. (Source- doi.org). As a result this shows that it is easier to misrepresent someone online than in a face-to-face conversation.
Lastly, face-to-face will help you more in the future. Some people argue that face-to-face communication is no longer better than electronic communication because electronic makes communicating easier and will help you out more. However, with all the research, many are stating face-to-face communication will help you more in the future.
