On July fifth, 1852 Fredrick Douglass delivered an exhilarating Speech on America’s independence day.  Delivered in Rochester, New York for the Ladies Anti-Slavery Society of Rochester, on the fifth which was the day in 1827 that 4,000 slaves freed slaves trouted down Broadway, N.Y to commemorate being freed in their state, instead of the fourth which is Americas independent/freedom day. Douglass had an audience of about 600 listeners at Corinthian Hall. Douglass Address Covidien members of the crowd then began this historical speech.Frederick Douglass was born into slavery. In paragraph three he explains the endeavors he had to Indore to overcome The circumstances he was born into. This passage is a prime example of how America was built, with Frederick being a former slave is groundbreaking to see, an elevated level is broadcast upon speaking in front of a crowd. This follows into paragraph four where Douglass explains that this is their national Independence Day. In a passionate section, Douglas explains how does the United States has accomplished so much in 76 years and negative Lee that it cannot get caught up in the actions and he has endured so far keep pushing forward and continue on a positive path for successParagraph five starts with Douglas explaining that he is also a fellow citizen. He quotes in self-explaining I shall not presume to dwell at the Lankford on the association that clusters about this day, Douglas delivers a hard-hitting message about how the British were the successors of these colonizers 76 years ago when they want it there and independence from their home country. Through Contacts you can tell the support that was given to the American people for fighting for what they believed in against the British. Douglas gives valuable insight on how he feels about slavery he’s no longer holding a grudge but he wants the American people to open their eyes and see what they’re doing. Seemingly destroying a civilization for the greater needs of their own without batting an eye towards the injustice that they bring upon people. Shoving independence and freedom and those who can’t speak for themselves face.  Douglass hard truth to the American people about their eminent ways towards Africans. A powerful statement such as Your high independence only reveals the immeasurable distance between us. the irony of asking a black man born into slavery to speak about independence. Douglass follows this statement with the rich and herons of justice liberty and prosperity and independence bequeathed by your fathers is shared by me and you. Quotes like these explain how Americans fought for their freedom but are suppressing Africans down the same way the British did them, they should take a moment to reflect on their actions. This Fourth July is yours, not mine. When are the American people like it or not they will always be associated with slavery? Expressed concern that people are celebrating independence was slavery is happening right in front of their eyes. After deep recollection, I understand from Douglas’s words that no one wouldn’t want to be a slave, and those who are can’t oppose their masters. With such wisdom you begin to understand how inhumane and cruel the slaves are being treated with comparisons to animals being chained to ships forced to do manual labor, He even went into detail about how the Baltimore slave traders were sneaking into shipping newly chain slaves without public awareness. Trying to hide the inhumane treatment of Africans because of anti-slavery activism. How cruel the American people were to African slaves lead Douglas to question condemns of God and the church. Mighty power and A group of faithful for giving Kristian’s could be so merciless towards innocent people. Gave clear criticism of how the American church dismisses the accusations and existence of slavery.  The fugitive slave laws took away any indication of Africans being referred to as humans, their human and civil rights being stripped away. Transitioning back to democracy he begins to tear Americans for supporting freedom and democracy in Europe but not for African slaves.Throughout reading this passage The greater context of this passage was for people that are free to understand how they’re in slaving others. The irony that was brought towards Douglas’s attention of him presenting a speech on July 4 America’s independence day shows the mere fact how much don’t care about Africans. From what I’ve written these quotes stood out the most because they documented the events that are happening at that moment. Giving valuable insight into the injustice Africans were showed. Douglas points out that celebrating the declaration of independence is blasphemous while American people who gained their independence from the British, are doing the same thing that the parliament did to them. Even presenting the speech on July 5 is a testament to show how Douglas is still not in America.

Douglass concludes his speech by Explaining how he feels slavery will end eventually. Douglas's July 5 speech is a valid indication of how equality was coming into Fruition. An Educated African speaking in front of a large group shows how educated Africans can be. We still see a lot of these problems with independence And equality today. Douglas explains that he no longer wants American slavery to be hidden. Douglas finishes off the speech with a poem, Which speaks about times when slavery will be over equality would be true and freedom will prevail for everyone. Throat every sentence of this passage Douglas shows the hypocritical Ness of the American people celebrating their very own independence while enslaving others. Pushing an Agenda into the minds letting them know where their selfish mental aspect is. Doing some additional research you find that Abraham Lincoln issued the emancipation proclamation six months later. Also continued his speeches on 5 July to continue his work of independence for African slaves.
