Beliefs have come a long long way but some have come a more long way and some of those have and still are influencing us today in the modern world. Greek and Roman beliefs are some of the few that have come a long way from a time period we look back on so we can see and study what others did with Greek and Roman beliefs. We see how Greek and Roman beliefs have impacted us because our founding fathers used the Roman Republican Government and Greek philosophy to form a new base for our foundation. Greek and Roman beliefs were beginning to be studied during the Scientific Revolution.

During the Scientific Revolution, educated people studied Catholicism and Greek from around the world to gain more understanding of these 2 beliefs and to also help. After the scientific revolution, the educated people who studied Catholicism and Greek from around the world came back and had more knowledge from studying the world and Science more, rather than just being told what it was like. They eventually came up with some new ideas and explanations to help their society and the beliefs they had studied. This has influenced us because their ideas were the foundation of western religion and lessons influencing modern-day lessons. History of World Civilization 2 and the website I read about this from says “Most educated people who studied the world took guidance from the explanations given by authorities like ancient Greek writers and Catholic Church officials. After the Scientific Revolution, educated people placed more importance on what they observed and less on what they were told. They gained knowledge by observing the world around them and coming up with logical explanations for what they saw”. This had changed the way people viewed the world during the Scientific Revolution because we saw different things that people did around the world and that greatly impacted us forever. Now, let’s talk about Judaism and Christianity during the Renaissance and the influences that impacted us today and back then. During the Renaissance, Christians were trying to strengthen their church, and Jews were considered non-Christian and were excluded. People wanted to change things for Jews and they had different ideas for Jews. In the Christian community, people who wanted change for Jews and possibly some Christians excluded Jews from the Universal Christendom. This is connected to the Renaissance period because the Renaissance was a time where people wanted things to change and one of the things they were trying to change was Christianity and Judaism Religon. How did this influence us back then and how does this influence us today? Well, here’s how. Since Jews were given a negative viewpoint in society, that changes things in Christianity, and over time western political thought eventually lead to equality and respect for one’s religion happened in 1791 when the first amendment was said to respecting a foundation of religion. My evidence for this is from the site I read “The Christian church was consequently trying to strengthen its control over the priesthood and laity and within the church, a dramatic spiritual renewal was taking place. The only remaining non-Christian minority in the heartland of Europe: the Jews. Anna Abulafia probes the anti-Jewish polemics of scholars who used the new ideas to redefine the position of the Jews within Christian society. They argued that the Jews had a different capacity for a reason since they had not reached the 'right' conclusion - Christianity. They formulated a universal construct of humanity that coincided with universal Christendom, from which the Jews were excluded.”
