Harvard Law School Application Letter Example

Thank you for taking the time to review my application, and offer me a place on Harvard Law School’s waitlist. I am truly appreciative and excited by the opportunity to be a part of HLS’s legacy. I envision myself graduating as a proud member of the HLS Class of 2024. If extended an offer, I will be enrolling and depositing immediately without any hesitation as Harvard Law is my top choice.

Over these past few months, I have had the opportunity to work as a legal assistant at a private practice and continuing to work with the Rutgers pro bono clinic. My experiences here, working with diverse underprivileged clientele, have further strengthened my resolve to pursue a career in the human rights sector.

As my passion for human rights remains unwavering, so does my confidence that Harvard Law is the ideal school for me to effect change and impact the disadvantaged communities around me. I am drawn to Harvard for a multitude of reasons, including its strong academic reputation and stellar staff and administration. 

It is Harvard’s dedication to public interest via pro-bono requirements, academic courses, and clinics that reinforces my belief that Harvard Law will best prepare me for the challenges I will surely face in the human rights sector. I’m eager to fully submerge myself in the International Human Rights Clinic and develop relationships with mentors and peers who share the same commitment to supporting disenfranchised communities. I commit myself to consistently learning from and engaging with the Harvard community, and bringing forth my unique viewpoints, experiences, and competencies to the table so that I will be an asset to the Harvard community.

Ultimately, my conviction that I belong at Harvard Law is primarily rooted in two contentions. I am confident that Harvard will provide me with the resources, opportunities, and network to be the most impactful in my career aspirations. I am even more confident that I will bring a diverse and significant perspective and skill set to Harvard, so that I may be a contributor to Harvard Law’s remarkable legacy. 

I envision myself enrolling at Harvard Law, and engaging with a community of individuals who will challenge and support me in the same vein. If extended the honor of attending Harvard Law, I look forward to thanking you in person on September 1, 2021.
