In August of 1945 the question was going around in the United States to see if dropping a atomic bomb on Japan would end WW2 more quickly. Japan made an unknown "aerial" attack on the US on December 7, 1941. Pearl Harbor was one of the most significant naval bases in the US before the Japanese attacked. Japan did this because Japan did not want the United States to interfere with military actions in Southeast Asia against other countries that Japan was planning. The US had already been involved in the war because of the failure of the League of Nations, treaties, and more. But now the US had been more involved in the war in the case of Battling Japan. Four years after Pearl Harbor the United States had been planning their attack on Japan, and their strategy was thrown back and fourth until of bombing Hiroshima, Japan was an idea. Many people had thought that this was a great idea while others thought that it was a bad idea. The United States was justified in dropping the Atomic Bombs on Japan because it stopped the Red Army from joining the war, it ended the war quickly, and it killed less people than invading Japan as an alternative.

It stopped the fire raids and the strangling blockade; it ended the ghastly specter of a clash of great land armies.” Using the atomic bomb would have ended the war quickly and it would have stopped fire raids and blockade that the Japanese was using in the war. This is important because the ending of Fire raids and Blockade would end the clash of great armies. In all, the United States was justified in dropping the Atomic Bombs on Japan because it  ended the war quickly.

In document 7 the chart shows the casualty number that has happened due to fighting. The chart shows hundreds of thousands of predicted deaths due to war, but using a atomic bomb would kill people but it would kill less people and end war quickly. In document 9 Grayford C. Payne says,"That is why all of us who were prisoners in Japan, or were headed for it to  probably die in the invasion, revere [are thankful for] the Enola Gay [the plane that dropped the atmomic bomb]. It saved our lives." Dropping the atomic bomb would have killed less people and also kill less US military people who were held captive in jails in Japan. The chart predicted that if a battle happened instead of a atomic bomb than millions of soliders would have died instead due to fighting. In document 9 Grayford Payne talks about his life as a prisoner and if the atomic bomb was not dropped than he would have been brutally killed by Japanese officers. Fortunately for Graford the bomb was dropped and he and many US prisoners in Japan escaped and were alive. In all, the United States was justified in dropping the Atomic Bombs on Japan because it killed less people than invading Japan as an alternative.

Killing less people is very important because dropping the atomic bomb would have killed less people and also kill less US military people who were held captive in jails in Japan. The atomic bomb dropping on Japan was a tough decision. Many thought that it was an easy decision to drop it and others thought that it was an easy decision to not drop it. To conclude this essay, the decision to drop the atomic bomb was made and the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. Many US civilians and even the government are still debating if this was a good idea, but it did end war quicker, it killed less people than battling it out, and it stopped the Red Army from joining the war.
