We were trying to answer the question “ How does food web complexity affect the biodiversity of an ecosystem?” We are trying to identify the answer to this question because the complexity of all the organisms in the biosphere all end up adding up to changes, whether big or small. There are multiple different parts that line up to make  a biosphere with abiotic and biotic factors, as of right now we are focusing on the biotic factors in an ecosystem. The definition of biotic is all the living things in an ecosystem, so that can be plants, trees, animals, insects and a bunch of others!

During our investigation my group used an ecology lab simulator, we used this because this is where the best and easiest resources and data came from. All we had to do to conduct this was add in our plants ABC all of our herbivores and omnivores but it depended on which ones profited off of which organism it was. Our group after picking a complex food web then ran the data for 100 days to see the outcome our food web has on our biosphere. As we started to run the data we were shocked, we thought all of our living things would benefit off of each other and thrive, but that wasn't the case at all. We started to realize the more living organisms and complexity we added  in our biosphere the more our numbers for some organisms plummeted and some slowly dropped but they all dropped in some way. We started to get some animals and plants that were completely gone by day 75 while some were still in the 3000 by day 100.

Our argument is that having a complex food web is good so the biotic factors in our biosphere have options but it makes it harder for all of them to stay alive. Our group says this because when we had a simple food web with our first chart of 3 all of our numbers were above 1000 but then when we added another they were still above 1000 but as we got to 5-6-7 our numbers dropped. We started getting 0 and numbers that were below 1000 and a few that were above 1000. So with that being said, yes complex food webs are good so there are enough resources and options for each animal but in the end not all will still be living because their life isn't infinite. All living things die or run out so when a frog bunny and cow eat grass but not trees the grass would run out a lot sooner than the trees would.
