How to Take Care of Pets Essay Example

You know how we always as kids would beg our parents for something? “Mom i promise i’ll clean my room if you get me this!” no? Oh well I do. I was sorta thinking that if we got a cat it could show you how responsible i am. It could show that I can take care of something and I could show you how trustworthy I can be. I am aware that taking care of a pet is a big responsibility when you are taking care of another life. I am responsible for feeding it, loving it etc. When you are busy all the time with school and work sometimes you forget to do simple things in your daily routine such as; changing the litter, making sure doors are closed, making sure she has water. But I deserve the chance to show you I can do it if you give me the opportunity to try and show you I can. 

In addition, I think I am already being responsible by choosing a cat by not choosing an animal I know I cannot handle or take care of. Personally I am not a huge outdoors person. I am usually inside for most days I am not the kind of girl to go play with my dog outside and chase her around. I would like to be inside watching netflix and having a cat lay all over me purring. Cats are safer indoors if a predator comes at the cat in attack mode the cat doesn’t have much to protect himself from, maybe his claws but the predator is going to use his mouth. While we are on the topic of cats being safer indoors they can get nasty diseases that are dangerous to bring around other people. I’ve seen more dead cats on the side of the road than deers etc. I want my cat to always feel safe, especially around me. 

Furthermore, cats are quieter isn’t it annoying when you're sleeping and all of a sudden you are rudely awakened by your dog barking at a wall or going out? Gosh i remember when my little dog would wake me up and i would go downstairs and she would be barking at the wall. Yes a WALL it did freak me out a little i’ll admit considering it was at 3’oclock in the morning. Aunt Tina’s cat calms me sometimes. I always go straight to her too, “Where is she” is always my first word. Cats help with anxiety and depression; they are like a comfort blanket. You literally cannot deny that or you’d be lying, and lying is bad by the way. Cats genuinely are great to come home to after having a long day at school or work. 

In conclusion, cats are loveable, and I believe I deserve the opportunity to show you guys mom and dad that I can be responsible for a cat or kitty, preferably a kitty but that’s not what’s important. I am really good with animals and I love them. Cat’s are safe, and like what I love, indoors. Cats are safer inside from diseases, predators and so much more. They are quiet and not as annoying as a dog would be. I hope you both can take everything i’ve said into consideration and i hope you both know i am committed and aware of the effort to take care of an animal but i’d be great at it.
