How Vaping Affects Our Health


You don’t want to smoke cigarettes because you know they’re bad for you. You then try to make  a substitution for it, so you look online and find something called a vape. You jump around with joy, thinking they’re completely fine for you, then it hits you, the side effects of smoking them. Vapes are a form of nicotine that you inhale and exhale. Vapes are bad for your health because of the respiratory problems, nicotine addiction, and mental health issues.

First off, vapes are bad for your health because of the respiratory systems. Vaping can affect your cell with toxicity, oxidation, and inflammation. Harming these cells makes them vulnerable to dust, bacteria and allergens that might lead to incurable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Vaping can also cause respiratory disease. Breathing in volatile organic compounds can irritate the nose and throat and cause breathing difficulty, and can even cause cancer. It’s worse for minors though, they are at increased risk for coughing, wheezing, and worsening asthma. Popcorn lung is caused by vapes too. The worst part about vapes is death, the first death was recorded in August 2019.

Secondly, vapes are bad for your health because of nicotine addiction. The more you vape, the more your brain and body get used to having nicotine, and it's hard to go without it. After regularly vaping, when you go without the nicotine level in your bloodstream drops, which makes you feel unpleasant, physical symptoms, and high urges to vape. This is nicotine addiction. When you stop vaping, you get nicotine withdrawal. Some effects of those are feeling irritable, restless, feeling sad or down, and feeling anxious. You also won’t be able to think clearly or concentrate. The only way to get over these symptoms obviously, is to quit. On your journey to losing addiction, you may come across depression, do not ignore these feelings and let someone know.

Lastly, vapes are bad for your health because of mental health issues. While vaping can calm the mind, the mentally draining factors greatly overcome that. On the downside, if you see something that makes you upset you’ll start getting depressed. If you have Anxiety and you start worrying about something, you could start having a panic attack. If you have PTSD and you remember something traumatic you could have flashbacks leading to the stress-induced attack. When you panic and realize you’re panicking, you start doing it even more. Sometimes this is due to the vape in your throat, lungs, and heart, then your heart starts beating faster. If you have anxiety this could be seen as a danger to them, resulting in them getting scared. It’s also common for vaping to cause loss of breath, adding into causing an anxiety attack.

In conclusion, vaping is very bad for you because of respiratory problems, nicotine addiction, and metal issues. You should never pick up a vape, it causes nothing but problems for your future. So walk out of that store and quit vaping!
