Human The Cause Of Global Warming Analysis

Global warming is being caused by humans, most scientists and researchers believe so as well. There are many studies in regard to this in the modern world because it has become a major area of concern. It is very obvious what is going on, this brings out the question whether global warming is being caused by humans or natural causes. Therefore, this essay will be based on the argument that global warming is being caused by humans.

Firstly, there is travel and transportation. Transportation was a huge contributor to U.S. greenhouse gas emissions in 2016. And many vehicles release carbon dioxide and other pollutants into the atmosphere. According to an article, it states, “The vast majority of vehicles on the road (and in the air and water) are powered via fossil fuels, such as gasoline. As they burn this fuel to power their engines, these vehicles release carbon and other pollutants, affecting both air and water quality.” (https://www.reusethisbag.com/articles/10-human-causes-of-global-warming) This shows that this is caused by humans driving around. And that this doesn’t just happen on it’s own. The greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere cause the Earth to get warmer since these gases trap heat. In another article, it says, “Road transportation is the greatest contributor to global warming for the next 50 years according to a recent study by NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies. By analyzing the climate impact of each sector of the economy, the study determined that motor vehicles emit significant levels of pollutants that warm the atmosphere…” (https://carnegieendowment.org/2010/04/15/transportation-leading-cause-of-global-warming-pub-40613) This proves that driving and transportation is a big reason why global warming is happening. It’s the amount of driving we, humans, do that release all these pollutants making the atmosphere more warm. Overall, traveling and transportation takes abig part in global warming since many gases and pollutants are being released from vehicles when driving, fuel is being burned to power the engines.

Secondly, there is deforestation, forests contain massive amounts of carbon in tree roots, branches, etc. When trees are cut down and burned or allowed to rot, their stored carbon is released into the air as carbon dioxide. As it states in an article, “The reason that logging is so bad for the climate is that when trees are felled they release the carbon they are storing into the atmosphere, where it mingles with greenhouse gases from other sources and contributes to global warming accordingly.” (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/deforestation-and-global-warming/) This shows how deforestation is a part of global warming and how it contributes. Cutting down and burning trees is something that humans are doing. As well in another article, it states, “Why does deforestation occur? Forests are cleared to make way for any of a long list of agricultural products and other human activities.” (tropical-deforestation-and-global-warming) What this proves is that trees aren’t getting cut down for no reason, it’s to make space for buildings and other things. It isn’t a natural cause. Overall, deforestation takes a big part in global warming considering trees contain carbon dioxide and get released when cut down by humans.

Finally, the burning of solid fuels and biomass for heating and cooking. Families/humans around the world burn a wide range of solid fuels and biomass, including wood, charcoal, animal dung, and agricultural waste, for heating and cooking purposes. As it states in an article, “To obtain these products, many community members cut down trees in nearby forests... With less trees, less carbon dioxide is taken from the air to be turned into oxygen... the smoke released from this type of heating and cooking is not only dangerous for the family breathing it, but also for the atmosphere outside. ” (https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/causes-of-global-warming-list.html) This shows that heating and cooking could lead to global warming and it’s clear that humans are doing this. It isn’t really much of a natural cause. Also, in the same article, it says, “The smoke contains high levels of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and methane.” What this is saying is that the smoke in the  atmosphere contains gases which makes up some of the share of global greenhouse gas emissions, which isn’t exactly good. Overall, heating and cooking can lead to global warming because of what is released and this is caused by humans.

To conclude, global warming is being caused by humans. There are many reasons why and the list can just go on. In this essay, those reasons are, traveling/transportation, vehicles release carbon dioxide and other pollutants into the atmosphere, deforestation, forests contain massive amounts of carbon and when trees are cut down and burned or allowed to rot, their stored carbon is released into the air as carbon dioxide, and lastly, heating/cooking, families/humans around the world burn a wide range of solid fuels and biomass which the smoke contains high levels of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and methane. These reasons prove how global warming is caused by humans.
