When the author Marc Aronson stated, In the text, If Stones Could Speak , “This is a book about questioning what others believe to be true, not accepting ideas just because famous people say they are right. [...] And that is the really big story here—how a new idea, a new way of thinking, can go from being dismissed to capturing the attention of the world”. It has a meaning and he supports it in the text . He’s explaining why you should follow your instincts , ask questions , and allow technology to help us . The central idea of the text is about questioning what others believe instead of just going off what famous people say .
One reason that supports this idea is the fact that just because someones theory is believable , reasonable doesn't mean you shouldn't ask questions about their theory . According to the text , when he says , this is a book about questioning what others believe , and not just accepting ideas because a famous person or any person says it . He means that you should ask questions , and not just believe what people say . Another thing he say’s is that what we learn before , is what allows us to move on to see what we can see in the future . This is basically explaining how you can use what other people say to help you learn more things in a different way .
Another reason that supports the idea is using the new technology to help us understand more things and using the new resources we have . According to the text , it says , each time someone views something with a new technology , we see the entire landscape around Stonehenge . Which means that when we use technology , you can see more around the surface of an area sometimes . Another piece of evidence is , the stones stay quiet as we view them with new eyes . This could mean that we are viewing the stones with technology which would help us understand more .
The last reason I found to be important to the idea is to follow your instincts. Evidence that supports this is , for us to understand it , we must follow our instincts , and keep thinking . If you keep thinking, you can find out more things , and trust your instincts , you might find out things that you didn't know before.
