On 24 February, the work woke up to the shelling in Ukraine. The images and videos were grueling and cries for peace were echoing everywhere. In the world of today, we are all connected and no country is in exile from the effects on other countries, that is why the blowback of the Russian invasion of Ukraine was felt all around Europe and even all the way to Africa and Egypt. 

Europe being the heart of the military offense has seen the most immediate effects. Immediately Calls for cease-fire and sanctions were initiated by almost all of Europe's leaders. A flood of Ukrainian immigrants fleeing the war invaded countries all around Ukraine, especially Poland. Many sanctions were imposed on Russia and Russian officials, yet the repressions hit Europe first. 

Inflation Soared as energy prices kept growing due to the sanctions on Russian oil and gas which fueled most of Europe furthermore, many have lost their jobs as companies exited the market. The worst is yet to come, but many leaders are calling for peace talks to take place before the situation escalates any further. 

The MENA region although seemingly far from the events has been also severely hit. Many African countries rely on grain imports from the two countries, make them at risk of an impending food security crisis. As well as the decline in anti-terrorism aid that many counties relied on to protect their people from radical groups. 

Egypt has taken proactive measures such as building developed Wheat Silos to improve the life of the essential grain, as well as taking the necessary steps to plan for alternate Suppliers. Above all the economic reform Egypt has undergone has made the Country not only resilient and able to withstand the challenge, but also active in seizing opportunities, for instance, selling energy to Europe which is avidly seeking alternatives to Russian energy. 

In a globalized world, all nations are connected and events anywhere on the planet lead to a cascade of effects everywhere. Therefore, all nations should work together to seek peace and common interests, Likewise, Solid measures should be taken to protect the more Vulnerable states that could face destruction beyond repair.
