Today we are living in the 21st century, you cannot deny that mobile and smart devices have become a part of our daily life. No matter where you go, everyone will be using their devices for social media, to purchase things and many more. Not only adults and teenagers use these gadgets, thus young and even underaged kids are involved in using them. Many parents have allowed their kids to use smart devices freely even if their child is still young. This will lead young kids to different side effects and dangers in using smart devices. Because of addiction, inappropriate and aggressive behaviour and also health problems will be faced by them.

Firstly, young kids who love to spend most of the time looking at their smart devices will result in addiction. According to May Recreation, most parents tend to hand their devices to their child by playing cartoon videos whenever they are busy. For instance, kids who are addicted will rather spend their days by staying at home instead of hanging out with their friends. Moreover, it will also cause lack of interactions between family members as the device can be a tendency for kids to escape from social interactions. In short, it is clear that young children will be addicted towards smart devices. Besides, when young kids are given smart devices, they will be watching different contents from time to time thus they may have a chance to be exposed towards harmful yet abusive contents. This will allow them to develop inappropriate and aggressive behaviour as kids always imitate things they observe. These bad behaviours are able to develop through certain platforms like social media, TV and also gaming platforms. In modern platforms nowadays, it contains more coarse language, offensive gestures and some disrespectful contents compared to traditional platforms. Referring to Michigan State University, they did an experiment to see how children will imitate what they see on TV. The result was that about half of the children are able to repeat the action from the video about three times. Here we can conclude that children will be exposed to inappropriate and aggressive behaviours.

Some parents might claim that smart devices are important and must be given to their young children. They believe that the younger generation should keep on track with the trends and modern society. However, they did not realize that they had put a young child in a more dangerous situation.

Furthermore, the overuse of smart devices each day could potentially cause health problems such as sleep deprivation, eye discomfort and physical inactivity. Why do I say so? It is because when their eyes are exposed to blue lights from a device too late, the brain will give signals to make them stay awake thus leading to improper sleeping habits. Having an over period of time staring at the device can strain their eyes, cause fatigue and even worse their eye power will increase. When kids are too obsessed with the device, they tend to sit for a long time which will cause kids to have aches, pain, body stiffness and to develop improper body positioning. Hence, children will possibly face these health problems at a young age.

All in all, parents should not allow younger kids to use or have a smart device. Kids' behaviour will become more aggressive plus they might as well offend their parents with harmful words one day, thus being too addicted to devices will bring harm to kids' health. Without having these devices, our children may grow with better socializing skills, influence with positive moral habits along with good reading skills. Therefore, every parent should train their kids at an early age together with making good decisions about handing smart devices to them when it is appropriate.
