Importance of Inner Beauty Essay Example

The beauty standard is real, nowadays it is preferably a skinny, but a curvy woman who is pretty in the face and wears makeup. The word beauty is defined as, “A combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight” (dictionary). These women are considered an art piece to the human eye, but to me, beauty is not only looks. It is also the way someone acts, the way they show their true self. A person with confidence in themselves that is notable. Someone with a big heart, but is not considered to be a part of the beauty standard can still be defined as beautiful; their beauty shines through them from inside. 

Everyone’s beauty shouldn’t be judged from their looks, for everyone is beautiful in their own ways. Some people show theirs through the kindness of their hearts. These types of people are the good in humanity that we often seek but cannot always find. Their outer beauty doesn’t define them because it is their personality that wins people over and their looks tend to hide behind that. Looks cannot show the trueness of humans but their inner beauty or personality can. 

While personality presents one reflection of someone, confidence does another. Confidence is what people have when they have learned to love themselves; it is a feeling of self-assurance. I’ve realized that for me to truly fit into the definition of beauty, I had to love myself first. Confidence shows off great power in everyone and as long as it shows through their actions, their internal beauty will be noticed. When walking into a store, restaurant, etc., keeping the head held up followed by the eyes, confidence is brought into place making that person seem approachable and welcoming. If someone were to judge about looks the thought would be shut down, for the beauty is not what we can see but the self-love that is striking. 

Therefore, beauty can be observed and shown in more ways than we think. The human eye may be drawn to the looks of each other, but the heart will look beyond that at the inner beauty; the only beauty that truly counts in a world such as we live in. When defining what beauty really is, kind hearts and confidence take up major roles that come into play.
