Sports have shown that exercising and staying healthy have improved many people’s lives. I believe that sports can help you live a happier and healthier lifestyle. This will be about how sports can help you, challenge you, and give you great experiences that will be beneficial in the future.

When I was eight years old, I started swimming for HAST. (Hastings Area Swim Team) It was very hard at first, because it was my first time swimming for a club team. The practices were tough and long, and I was coached very vigorously. But as time went on, I realized that I was happier and stronger than I had ever been before. I had made good friends, and built great relationships with my teammates and coaches. I also realized that I had become a greater swimmer, and was improving at every meet. So after almost 7 years of swimming, I have come to the belief that sports can help you live a happier and healthier lifestyle.

There was a point in my life when I had almost quit swimming. I felt that I wasn't doing as well at practice, and I had stopped seeing progress. So after a few weeks of not seeing any change, I decided that I wanted to quit swimming. But the same day, I had gotten an email from my coach, telling me that I had improved my swimming so much, and I was doing so well at meets that I had been invited to move up a level. This gave me the confidence and grit I needed to stay in swimming. I went back to swimming, and since that day I almost never missed a day of practice. So even though my belief in sports was challenged, in the end it worked out, and I had so many more new opportunities ahead.

My belief that sports can help you live a happier and healthier lifestyle has shaped many of my daily activities. Swimming has been one of my top priorities for a while now. Currently, I go to 7-8 practices a week, but I have weekends off, depending if there’s a meet or not.  All of my homework is done after practice, or if I have time before practice starts. But I love my schedule, and it has helped me make it to big meets and place high at State Championships. My belief in sports has shaped many of my daily activities by giving me motivation to work harder in swimming and school.

I believe that sports can help you live a happier and healthier lifestyle. Sports can give you great opportunities, build lifelong relationships, and memorable experiences. So what I think is that sports can give you a better perspective of your lifestyle.
