After the innovation revolution, the development of computer technology and the Internet has brought great innovation to the animation industry. When we compare the animation in the middle of the 20th century with that of today, we can find great differences in production methods, art forms and communication forms. Much of this difference comes from the innovation revolution that has brought about the use of computer technology and the Internet.

There are three main effects of innovation revolution on animation. First, computer graphics technology has brought great changes to the way of animation production because of the birth of 3D animation. The second influence also comes from 3D animation, which makes the art form of animation become similar. Finally, the demand for animation increases because of the Internet, which further increase the number of software for animation production.

First, since the application of computer graphics technology to the animation industry in the 1980s, this technology has brought great innovation to the animation industry in the way of production. In the past, animation was produced by artists hand-drawing 2D images frame by frame, which was highly dependent on the artist's artistic level. For example, if an animation wants to show a turn-around scene, it's easy to create perspective problems by hand-drawing.

But 3D animation solves this problem. In addition, 3D animation improves the production efficiency of the whole animation. Because when an artist makes a 3D model, the model can be used over again in any animation segments without needing to be redrawn.

But on the other hand, the wide application of 3D animation makes the art form of animation become similar now. The clearest example is Pixar's art form, which has been imitated by animation companies around the world. Pixar is the pioneer of 3D animation, and it has set many standards for production of 3D animation, and when other companies produce according to these standards, they had to imitate Pixar's art form. However, the diversity of art forms is what artists should do. In case art forms become similar, which is one of the negative effects of the innovation revolution on animation.

Finally, the wide application of the Internet has brought new opportunities and challenges to the animation industry. For example, the widespread use of the Internet is generally reflected in the widespread use of social media. Social media makes it easy for people to see images and videos on their phones. Therefore, animation as a popular form of video, its demand is becoming more and more large. So simple and efficient animation software is becoming more and more popular, and people can now create an animation even on a pad. Animation became more convenient, but the quality of animation began to be uneven.

In the innovation revolution, computer graphics technology has brought more convenient means of production to the animation industry, and the Internet has also brought more convenient communication of animation. But it also brought many challenges to animation, such as the art forms becoming similar and the quality of art varied.
