Technology has indeed been limiting human creativity through various dimensions. The predominance of technology and smartphones has led to distractions of our creativity by our reliance on these tools, thus distinguishing our creative impulses. A strong argument on this notion is that we always spend most of the time on these tools such as phones, tablets, or laptops; thus, we lack imaginative activities that help promote creativity. Technology kills creativity in limiting production, alienation, or miscommunication of people from society as they are obsessed and enslaved to technology. As a result, creativity is aimed at giving us opportunities to try out new ideas and new ways of thinking and problem-solving. When it comes to academic settings, the online platform provides all the necessary information. This limits students from thinking or brainstorming their assignments as academic information is available worldwide, thus resulting in a less creative society. Technology starts killing creativity from the class level due to a lack of originality. Students copy-paste answers to their academic questions without doing extensive research independently, which is even more beneficial (Mishra and Henriksen). Direct information is straightforward and limits students' understanding as they rely on the information they only retrieve on the internet. This might result in irrational thinking and inability to the world exposure. Those who rely on the internet are not diversified compared to individuals who research other sources of information. Other sources of information offer diversified information that is not found on the internet. Group discussion further enhances someone's thinking capacity and level of understanding, thinking, and creation of ideas. 

Broken technology is also a form of distraction to business owners as well as their employees. It fragments peoples' focus by diminishing their capacity for productivity and deep work. Technology often disrupts individuals' original tasks, and it might take a lot of time to return; this not only results in wastage of time but also wastage of time. Such distractions limit individuals' creativity, even in organizations, as they fail to achieve the company's strategic goals and objectives.  The daily onslaught of social media distracts most staff in their organization's activities, thus limiting their level of production.  Employees who have their ideas in production methods do not share those ideas but limit themselves to information obtained through technology. Technology ends up making such employees operate like machines by following what technology says without questioning, criticizing, or even objecting to technology. According to them, technology is always right. This mechanism does not allow employees to express their creativity; thus, technology limits creativity. 

Technology also minimizes the creative conflict that leads to the generation of new ideas. For example, if one is boredom, a click of the internet washes the boredom away by providing entertainment. This stifles the original thinking of that individual that might have taken place were it not for the internet. This depicts a clear for that technology and creativity are in constant opposition. People also consume most of their free time on technology, such as playing video games, watching their screens, or just on their phones instead of mingling with other people or going to the gym. Technology mostly creates alienation of individuals from society as they are more interested in technology than what surrounds them. This limits creativity to most of the consumers of technology, who feel that technology solves their issues. 

Technology also limits creativity as it leads to miscommunication of people. Technology has consumed so many people that they find it hard to live without it. Communication patterns have been broken by technology such that humans are strangers to each other. It is common in buses, in parks, malls, or even social gatherings that people are glued on their phones, tablets, or laptops rather than spiking a conversion with people around them. In our apartments, we are no longer interested in thinking as a group as neighbors do not even know each other. It is therefore limiting creativity by wrecking our capacity for empathy.

On the contrary, technology also supports creativity in various ways. This is because technology enhances people to search and discover new things that they did not know initially. It promotes education as people increase their prowess in their level of understanding as well as reasoning. Others observe that kids can be creative in front of a screen and not just entertainment, and they can be creative by composing music, building their games, or even writing fan fiction. 

On the other hand, creative online work can also build an online social community, especially for like-minded individuals (Ingram). As they can come together, reason together as well coordinate in the production of creative works. They become contributors to content in society by becoming more innovative. As a result, technology enhances creativity and nurtures it through some of the well-known platforms such as YouTube. 

In conclusion, far from limiting creativity, technology enhances the proliferation of products and ideas. Technology is not perfect, but people should be self-aware of the negative effects of too much technology consumption. Technology has led to innovation for centuries, such as the development of medicine, which has been improving health care and developing electric and self-driving cars; all this was because technology enhances creativity. Therefore, creatives should not become afraid of technology but rather look for better ways of taking advantage of technology.
