The people of the United States of America chose Joe Biden for vice president and should choose him again to be our president in 2020. During Obama's terms Joe Biden was his vice president. They helped our country in many ways and Biden plans on continuing his work. He wants to help build back the economy and make teenagers from low income families get more out of their education after high school.

If Biden is elected president, he will help the economy grow and flourish. Biden has multiple plans on how to help the economy and one of the most important ones is how he will aid small businesses. During the pandemic, small businesses were hurt a lot, most of them had to close. According to the official Joe Biden campaign website he has already made plans on how to help said businesses. To quote, his plan is “providing small businesses with an ambitious “restart package” to survive the current crisis and come out the other side strong, he is launching a special, ongoing initiative to empower these entrepreneurs to succeed and grow with a three-prong Small Business Opportunity Plan” (Biden, 3) To further explain, Biden wants to provide small businesses most affected by COVID-19 a “restart package” to pay for the cost of restarting their business and rehiring workers. Biden wants to restart these businesses not only for the owners but for the workers. He understands that small businesses are a key component in our economy and the working class needs their jobs back. Biden also sees the inequality in the workplace. He wants to help it disappear. As mentioned by the official Joe Biden campaign website his plan is, “To address the racial wealth gap, the opportunity gap, and the jobs gap for Black and Brown people, Biden will launch a historic effort to empower small business creation and expansion in economically disadvantaged areas – and particularly for Black-, Latino-, AAPI-, and Native American-owned businesses.” (Biden, 3) Biden understands the difficulties for most people of non-white backgrounds and wants to help them. He will help small businesses created by people in economically disadvantaged areas more to even out some of the inequality found in work. Biden is what our economy needs in these hard times. Donald Trump did help the economy during the first three years of his term but his work was undone. Earlier this year the stock market crashed, jobs were  lost, and business had to close all under Trump's candidacy. How can you say Trump will help the economy when he is one of the reasons it is doing so bad. Biden not only has plans for helping the economy he also has plans on making kids from low-income households get the most out of their education after college.

Once elected, Joe Biden will help make college more affordable for low-income households. College is expensive and a lot of families aren't able to afford it. For example, a writer for marketplace.org, a website that helps people understand the stock market and today's growing economy, did research on how many people leave college with debt. Her findings show that, “Today, roughly 70% of American students end up taking out loans to go to college. The average graduate leaves school with around $30,000 in debt and all told, some 45 million Americans owe $1.6 trillion in student loans — and counting.” (Samantha Fields,1) More students take out student loans than not. That shows that college is truly one of the most expensive things in the United States. Biden wants to shrink this number by creating a plan for low income families to get their tuition free. His website states, “Biden has added to his education beyond high school agenda by adopting Senator Sanders’ proposal to make public colleges and universities tuition-free for all students whose family incomes are below $125,000. This proposal, part of Senator Sanders and Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal’s College for All Act of 2017, will help roughly 8 out of every 10 families.” (Biden, 7) A college degree is now a very popular requirement in today's atmosphere. For children in these low income families they must take out loans just to be able to work a good job. Biden does not think that is fair and will enact this plan once elected. While Biden has fixated himself on higher learning Trump hasn’t. According to Trump’s official website, “The Trump Administration successfully implemented the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to empower states with the flexibility they need to educate their students.” (Trump, 1) Even though he implemented the ESSA he wants to cut funding from public schools. The money he would be taking away would be the special education funding. He would be cutting off these kids opportunities to learn and grow just like everyone else.

In conclusion, Biden is what this country needs. His plans on two of the most adverse issues in today's world is what will save our country. Biden isn’t perfect and neither is Trump, but Biden’s pros outweigh the very few cons.
