Junior as a Remarkable Person in The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian Essay Example

Junior has had some hardships in life and might appear as someone you might not like. But, after you read this story you will see that he is a good person. You will sympathize with him and you will feel his pain, which he feels a lot of throughout this story. Junior really is a remarkable person.

Firstly, I think Junior is a remarkable person because he cares for his friends. His only friend at the beginning of the story is Rowdy. When junior decided to go to rearden his first thing was inviting Rowdy to go with him and his only friend punched him in the face and he still wanted to see and hangout with him. Now that is remarkable.

Next, I think he is remarkable because he is very humble.  Penelope came up and  kissed his cheek(page 127). He felt jealous at first but then he quickly became very grateful and humble. Then after that he was wanting to walk home to not have roger go out of his way and drive him to the reservation and also to not look poor but it was humble because he didn’t ask and was willing to walk home.  One last thing is during christmas when his drunk dad had saved him 5 dollars to give to him as a present rather than getting more drunk and that 5 dollars may be a low amount but he loved that present very much.

Lastly Junior is a kind hearted sympathetic person. When Rowdy and the wellpinit basketball team faced up against the reading school the second time reardon won and sent wellpinit on a losing streak and making their chances of the playoffs obsolete. Right after this happened junior went and cried and puked because that was his old best friend and his old school and his family. He went out and apologized which takes a lot after a great game like he had. Another example is when he punched Rodger after he made a racist joke and Rodger didn't punch back and Junior felt bad and actually became friends with him after.

Junior truly is a remarkable person and not to mention he is a small scrawny kid that is really good at basketball. But his personality is really what makes him stand out. This story and what junior went through and for him to still be a humble kind hearted caring person is very impressive. If Junior was real I would definitely want to be his friend.
