For this essay I will be discussing how far we have come when discussing human rights impact and improvement of  LGBT  issues and the challenges that have yet to be changed through 30 years of human rights law. The sucess of legalising lgbtq unions and the growing population of lgtbq members in canada. As times change Canada has succeeded in legalising lgbtq marragies as well as lgbtq and sexuality being more of a topic of discussion in schools across canadian school boards.  What you  need to do to improve on there education, safety and the legaalization of same sex marraiges across the world.

Despite Canada's amazing steps forward and human rights law going in effect to help protect thoses a part of the lgbtq community. There is a rise in hate crimes that are also rising in canada. It’s good that lgbtq community is growing in Canada and more people are coming to terms with their sexuality without feeling ashamed or fearful. But what is the point if we can't prevent the rise in hate crimes that are constantly increasing in canada. Human rights as a whole needs to be able to not only place laws but inforce them and improve upon them once they are in the place in order protect the lgtbq community. In CBC they stated that ‘’People in the 15 to 24 age bracket experienced the largest number of job losses of any group during the pandemic’’ that most likely many people apart of the Lgbtq community have disprportionaly lost their jobs during the pandemic. Instead of just giving loss to protect them from not only hate crimes there needs to be laws for employment that can protect legtbq from losing their jobs.  Despite this canada has finally done something as in 2017  the federal government  passed bill-c-16 which formally exclude lgtbq members in 1980s when the bill was first passed. Which shows how much work has been done to protect lgtbq rights as we are no going back and fixing the past mistakes that had been made by excluding the lgtbq community

As lgbtq are almost three times as more likely to experince violencve asnd inniproprate sexual behaviours compared to heterosexual in canada. As their are more sexual violence in all enivormenta than heretosexuals. Their is route and that i believe it has do with the lack of lgtbq sexual educations as well as sexuall violence towatrds the lgbtq community. Yes there laws to protect them but sometimes due to people’s lack of education and self awareness towards that issue they are aware and even choose to deny their any sexual violemce issue towards lgtbq memebers. Many stereotypes are surrounded by lgtbq community that harmful and can lead to many hate crimes due to this. Many are unaware that being gay isnt choice just like being straight. There are many pre misconceptions that have to do with a very poor lack of understanding and many assumptions rather than facts. By education people change the education system in a way that can prevent these misconceptions and teach people about their prejudice and why it is wrong. It could change a lot of people lives and prevent more lgbtq lives form being taken or facing violence due to their sexual orentation. Depiste human rights advance canada wherew sexual vilence is more toalked about and has moved fowards in many aspects sometimes lbgtq community is excluded from the discussion and it’s only view from heterotsexual stand point.

Even though canada and 30 other countries have legalized same sex marraige the issues stands and there is 195 countries in the world meaning 15 percent has legalized same sex marraiges around the world. Even though it is a step forward in human rights there still problems remain. As many people are dying just because of their sexuality and the idea of even allowing same sex marriage in these countries are unluckliy due to the criminalization of same sex marraiges. In countries like Uganda, Saudi Arabia, Palestine and many more.

Depsite the UN statment back in 2012 which was mentioned in the lecutre “Some say that sexual orientation and gender identity are sensitive issues. I understand. Like many of my generation, I did not grow up talking about these issues. But I learned to speak out because lives are at stake, and because it is our duty under the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to protect the rights of everyone, everywhere.” — UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to the Human Rights Council, 7 March 2012. Unfortunately after this there hadn't been as much improvment towards the lgbtq community when it comes to their safety and protection. There needs to be more done for lbtq members because they cannot travel to many different countries due to fear being killed even though their own countries they still face challenges. The UN needs step in when it comes to lgbtq members across the borad as their of many of them dying suffering in person due to there sexuality and the fact their countries do not accepted or considerred same-sex realtionshipons and normal they are precive it as sinfully and punishment through death to be reasonalbe. Or jail time. Which why human rights still needs to work on help lgbtq community even we’ve come for for major countries like canada, Usa, the uk and many more that are considered first-world countries.what about thoses who are considered 3rd world countries they deserve the same protection and care despite being from a different country. Their needs to be heavery acknowledgment about lgbtq memebers struggles outside these major countries that we usually talk when it comes to lgtbq issues.

We need to hold conference that can help bring for lgtbq community living in countries that do support their existence and believe they should not exist. Despite more countries being open to same-sex marriage their only small few compared to how many countries there are in the world. Even 6 countries in the world provide death penalty for being homesexual.  Despite how far we come for human rights for lgbtq memebers there will always be more work that has to be done to support them and know that their human rights are not being taken away just because of their sexuality. It needs to be discussed about what we as a collective hold as our values and the UN needs to step in and protect those whose rights are being violated outside first world countries if they truly stand for lgbtq community. Not many countries can afford luxcious of being able to protest freely and be heard without free of death or imprisonment as many governments are corrupt. Lgbtq issues are constanlty being ignroed and not taken seriously. They are constant fear of their lives and that unacceptable and truly a disappointment that not everyone can afford such a luxurious as human rights depsite gender, sex, sexuality and disablities.
