Numerous countries have given up the use of cars and decided to ban the use of automobiles, and studies have shown that “young people driving has decreased by at least 23%” Limitingcausee can have many advantages, including reducing pollution, decreasing costs, and increasing fitness.

Mainly, limiting car use can and will reduce pollution. As reported by Elisabeth Rosenthal, she states that- “Passenger cars are responsible for 12 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in Europe…and up to 50 percent in some car-intensive areas in the United States.” Without a doubt, automobiles are the cause of smog, and there are a lot of people who drive cars due to faster transportation.

Apart from this, Robert Duffer had said, “Paris had 147 micrograms of particularly significant matter (PM) per cubic meter compared with 114 micrograms in Brussels and 79.7 in London, Reuters found.”  Smog is causing Particulate matter, an extremely small particle that can cause serious health problems such as asthma and heart diseases when inhaled.

As well, Duffer also states, “The smog cleared enough Monday for ruling French party to rescind the ban for odd-numbered plates on Tuesday.” A ban on cars is enough to get rid of smog.

Second, limiting car use will reduce costs. The author, Elisabeth Rosenthal infers that- "But there are only two places to park-large garages at the edge of the development, where “but there are only two places to park-large garages at the edge of the development, where- a car-owner buys a space, for $40,000, along with a home.” 40-grand is a HUGE amount of money, especially on a car owner, which sounds like a waste of money.

Additionally, in the source, ‘Paris bans driving due to smog’ Duffer claims, “license plates were ordered to leave their cars at home or suffer a 22-euro fine ($31)” Paris was doing everything in Its power to keep people off their automobiles to clear the air of the global city, it seems ridiculous yet, reasonable.

And Paris is not the only one either, in Bogota, Colombia, according to Andrew Selsky, “Violators faced a $25, fine” As a result of that, the turnout was large, Mayor Antanas had said, “The rain hasn’t stopped anyone from participating.”

Another way that limiting car usage can do is increase fitness, Rosenthal had said in ‘German suburb, Life goes on without cars’ “Stores have parked a walk away, on the main street, rather than in malls along some distant highway.” Without cars, stores would be much closer, and people would have started to walk to a grocery store.

Then, Selsky also stated, “Parks and sports centers also have bloomed throughout the city; uneven, pitted sidewalks have been replaced by broad smooth sidewalks; rush-hour restrictions have dramatically cut traffic.” It is shown that more people who stop using their cars can save money by biking or walking. Selsky also reported that-“It has seen the construction of 118 miles of bicycle part paths, the most of any Latina America city.” according to Mockus, the city’s mayor.

No doubt, Car use can be argued and supported that limited car use can reduce pollution, reduce cost, and increase fitness, clearly limiting car use will have a significant impact on the air, physical well-being, and cost.
