For many years, students as early as 12 years old start relationships with someone they think they are “in love” with, but it’s only a matter of time till the infatuation runs its course and things get really messy. So here is why students all over the world should prioritize their education, rather than their romance.

The concept of a relationship leans on teamwork, dedication, trust, and foundation. How is a student over the ages of 12-16 going to turn that into something that is at least close to healthy? However you think about it, the end result is still the same. Constant, relentless processing won't change anything. The answer is, they can’t. In a relationship scenario, the teen student will have so much to think about. His/her school works, the relationship itself, and how the family might take it. it’ll all just badger him/her to a state of despair.

The relationship between the two will then grow out of the infatuated state, and due to the amount of stress both parties might receive, they will eventually take it out on each other, due to a mismanagement of stress, anxiety, or unnecessary pressure. When that happens, the relationship will be extremely pernicious, which will lead towards an eventual split that won’t really be the definition of the terms “melancholic acceptance”, more like “unhealthy hatred” towards each other. Then in the midst of the whole thing, they’ll be too sad to study, and their future starts going down, and their life slowly hangs in the balance, because of one simple impulsive decision to get a girl.

Okay, I currently stated an obvious drawback of relationships in the midst of studies. But    what if that scenario won't go as I stated, and the relationship isn’t as troublesome as I speculated? In a young age, the average length of a long relationship is 2 years and remember, that’s the long relationship statistic. In this age, they don't really have the time to do both studies and commitment, they seldom are able to even commit to their homeworks, let alone a relationship. Even the somewhat successful teen relationships, relationships will still be as frustrating, there isn’t an escape from it. That’s why the year count is only up to 2 years. Due to the immaturity of a teen, it’s inevitable that the toxicity will come or lack of functionality, which will lead to a break up which leads to poor performance in school.

Relationships may appear in a later state in your life. You as a teen have no need to rush or in simpler terms, you don’t have to rush it. But unlike relationships, Studies do not have an easier alternative pathway. It's one and done. Adult class or Night School is an alternative, but the damage to your future was already done.

In conclusion, Students should prioritize their education and not their current romance, because it can cause too much stress and because teens are not mature enough to handle one relationship without the possibility of toxicity entering, which will lead to an inevitable break up that will affect the academic performance.
