Today, the environment is an issue that is on everybody’s mind. The whole world is divided on the issue: Some people believe we are doing enough for the environment. Others have differing opinions. In my opinion, I do not think we are doing enough for the environment due to the fact that it is too expensive, people do not take the time to help and they are not educated enough on the topic.

To begin with, helping the environment is substantially expensive. According to a website, if we want to help the environment we have to cut our meat consumption by 75%. This means you would have to become vegetarian or vegan, most of the time these products are more expensive than meat. Secondly, to help the environment we have to cut our pollution down and to do this a large percentage of the population would need to switch over to electric cars. Non-electric cars are already expensive and electric cars are even more pricy. Lastly, to help the environment we would need to reduce the number of negative effects on the environment by switching to solar panels. Although, fossil fuels are cheaper than solar panels they contribute a ton of negative effects on the environment.

In addition, people do not take the time to help the environment. Firstly, people do not take the time to recycle, exactly 40% of people do not recycle their plastics. Recycling is vital for the environment as it conserves our resources. Similarly, people do not take the time to compost. Composting is vital to helping the environment as it adds enrichments to the soil. Finally, people do not reduce their energy use. Making every drop count, and conserving water results in reduced energy requirements and carbon emissions.

To end with, people do not thoroughly educate themselves. Everyone has an opinion but making a decision when not being educated is really common today. Most people do not help out the environment because they do not know how to. Furthermore, people might not believe the information they are given. Unfortunately, some people do not believe that reducing our pollution will help out our environment in the years to come. Lastly, people could be led to believe that improving the environment is not a serious issue. According to a website, 10% of people do not believe that improving the environment is a serious problem.

Ultimately, I do not think we are doing enough for the environment due to the fact that it is too expensive, people do not take the time to help and they are not educated enough on the topic. As a person of the future, I believe that we should be seeking more ways to educate ourselves on the environment.
