The Indian Horse movie is very good because of how well it portrayed Residential schools in Canada. This film reminded me of many similar issues that happened in history. Firstly,  I felt touched after watching this film because the movie reminded me of the holocaust but against the First Nations, it was like the holocaust because families were being separated and put into places where they could potentially be killed or die.

A second connection that I noticed is that the residential school looked like a prison.  I don't know anyone who went through this but my opinion film was that I felt bad for Saul after his teacher whom he trusted before assaulted him, also I kinda wanted Saul to still focus on playing hockey so that he can become a  big star and become a role model for the First Nation kids, and talked about the truth about the residential schools. Also, When Sauls's hockey team the Moose went to the bar and got into a fight, I hoped that the Moose won that fight but then I realized that they might get arrested.

After Saul left the Toronto monarchs and found Lonnie drinking in an alley I felt really bad for Lonnie because of all the trauma and abuse he faced because he did not know any English during his time at the school. This Film relates to the problem of racism in the world, the way that Saul faced racism from the crowd and even his teammates on the Toronto monarchs can be similar to people of colour being assaulted on the street by someone. Next, the film also can relate to mental health problems, For example, the abuse the children faced through the film can lead to mental problems, and it is the same now because of how big mental health is being talked about now. Finally, the movie can also relate to the homeless problem we have now, just like how Lonnie was seen in the movie homeless after he left the residential school. I am glad that we watched this movie and now I feel more educated about how residential schools looked and how bad these children were mistreated.
