My Interest in Music Essay Example

I have always heard people talk about their passion for music, but I never fully understood it. I only played music to fill the silence. Songs were merely a catchy tune with words. However, when I moved, my perspective on music changed radically. I had anticipated the move to go seamlessly, similar to the people in the movies. Unfortunately, movies are far from reality. I struggled considerably to obtain a place in my new school. I was a timid person, and I struggled to put myself out there to meet new people and make friends. However, I tried my best to make it work, but it never felt like enough. It was difficult for me to find somebody who could relate to this feeling and felt isolated. 

When I came home from my new school, I would turn on music to play in the background as I completed my chores. On one occasion, the song Trying My Best by Anson Seabra was playing, and it instantly captured my attention. Therefore, I sat down and listened. Each lyric had perfectly articulated the emotions I had been experiencing as I tried adjusting to my new environment. I felt like someone understood, and I wasn’t alone. After that event, music held a deeper meaning for me. Now, I listen to music to put my feelings into words and realize that others experience similar feelings.
