16 personalities is an online assessment that determines your personality. I was identified as a “Campaigner” or  ENFP. It describes me as many different things such as extroverted, intuitive, feeling, and prospecting. This personality type fits me very well because of its accuracy. First, it says that I am an excellent communicator. I feel this is the most true statement of all because in any case where I am interacting with people, I always seem to get a laugh out of them. While I am at work, there are so many people down and tired-looking. I can always make them walk away from the counter looking much happier than before our interaction. Next, in the Career Paths section, it takes note that I have a very difficult time choosing a career path. This stands to be true because I feel as though I have so many opportunities, but cannot find the courage to just choose one. For example, most recently I have been contemplating what I want to major in for college. I cannot decide between Business, Finance, or Accounting. I cannot help but worry that I am going to choose a career path that is the least valuable and pass up a greater opportunity. Then, it states that I am very disorganized. This statement is very true for me because I do a very good job procrastinating and avoiding priorities. I would rather spend the day watching Netflix or doing something more entertaining than something like going to the gym or reading a book. This is not to say the site is completely correct though. In the Friendships section, it states that I usually get “In Too Deep” with friendships. As much as I enjoy interacting with others, I am good at taking a hint. I see right through to their subliminal messages. All in all, this assessment has taught me some valuable lessons about myself. This has helped me understand where I fit in others’ lives.

Now that I have identified my personality type, I feel it will be easier for me to interact with others. It has given me perspective on the part I play interpersonally. I would say that I was aware of  what my personality type would have been, but to see it documented and explained gives me more insight on the way I operate. Before, my personality felt verbally indescribable but this puts everything into a clear frame.  Knowing my advantages as a “Campaigner”, I will be able to utilize my strengths to more effectively communicate with those around me. Though this does not mean I am limited to what my results say. I feel as though I can use this information to work on the disadvantages or the weaknesses of who I am. For example, the assessment is correct in saying that I am overly accommodating. This trait could be strengthened through many different strategies such as asking to answer a question at a later time, to  take everything with a grain of salt, and be more adaptable. This will ultimately make my life easier and less stressful in the short and long term. In addition, this test has given me a better idea of how to take better care of myself for the future. It advises me in the Parenthood section not to be hard on myself when it comes to being strict or laid back. It makes note that I am not in full control of my child's outcome and that with a balance of discipline and trust, there will be nothing to worry about. Also, in conclusion, it assures me that I am not alone with these feelings I am having. This is to consider that the test has been taken by hundreds if not thousands of people that share the same personality traits as I do.

After looking over the other 15 types of personality, I am able to take a good guess at which personalities identify those closest to me. I would consider my Mom as a Defender personality because of how quick she is to stick up for me and our family as a whole. I would consider my Dad as a Commander personality because of how adaptable he is in most situations. He even refers to himself as MacGyver because of how resourceful he can be. Most of my co-workers are not very open about their personal lives so it is hard to identify their personality type. I can tell that most of them live a completely different life outside of Wawa’s doors.  For my closest friend Skyler, I would call him a Campaigner like myself because of how careless he is. I do not mean careless negatively, I simply mean he can let things go easily. As this may not be a good things as far as school work goes, it is admirable how he goes about life without a worry. I think Skyler would be the only person I can identify in my life that also seems like a Campaigner. This is probably the main reason why we get along so well. As far as my family and coworkers go, their personalities definitely have an impact on how I act around them. For example, my grandmother, who lives with my parents and I, is a very negative person overall. This usually prohibits me from telling her anything worth speaking about. Most of what I do let slip gets taken the wrong way and is retold to my parents as if I said something ten times worse. In this instance, her personality definitely affects how we interact interpersonally. As a “Campaigner”, I feel it is most difficult to talk to those around me. When trying to voice my opinion, I feel as though I am still seen as a kid. Most of what I say to my parents is not taken seriously or is overlooked almost immediately. When speaking to others such as friends and co-workers, I feel as if I am more understood. In addition, people my age never seem to engage in friendship like I do. It may just be because of the pandemic, but I feel like everyone around me is sort of anti-social. As much as I try, most of them are too busy on social media or preoccupied with something else in their lives. It is also hard for me to engage with my co-workers because of how unpredictable they can be on any day of the week. You do not really have a choice when it comes to who you are working with, so you just have to adapt to them and make the best of it. Sometimes I have co-workers who are as nice as ever, and then the next night could not be more unapproachable. As a “Campaigner”, it is said that I often impress my managers with my adaptability. I disagree with this claim because most times my managers do not give praise to anyone who goes above and beyond for their hard work. I am sure we are appreciated, but it makes us hard workers feel no special compared to those who stand around all day doing nothing. This is ultimately harmful to my work ethic since there is no exterior motivation besides my own morals. This shows that it is their personality that is the problem, not mine.

In conclusion, I feel this test was more accurate than I would have expected. At first glance it seemed to be just a cheesy questionnaire that would give you a very vague and generic.
