Every year my family tires to go on some short of vacation or short getaway trip. My mom is always very good about planning trips and making sure that there is something for everyone to do on the trip. In 2013 my mom planned a family trip to Riviera Maya Mexico. We arrived there Saturday June 15th, and just had a lazy day by the pool and ocean. At the resort we were staying at we had seven nice restaurants that we could eat at without going somewhere off the resort. My mom had surprised me with some excursion to do while we were there. She took me to swim and play with dolphins, we went snorkeling, my dad and I took jet skis out in the ocean and saw dolphins, and we took family photos for my parent’s 20th anniversary. Even though I was seven years old when I took this trip; I still to this day remember just about everything we did on this trip. It was by far one of my favorite vacations we have taken so far just because of how much time and effort my mom spent finding cool things to do to keep my little self-busy. After that trip we didn’t take another trip for two years later, this time we were going to Florida for a week then New Orleans for a week for Girls Junior National Championship for volleyball. This time my mom let me bring my best friend at the time to come with us to Florida because she was also on my volleyball team as well. This trip my mom didn’t plan as many things for us to do just because we had a important week long volleyball tournament right after so she didn’t want us to be drained from vacation. On this trip we went parasailing, road a banana boat, we also went snorkeling, and played family mini golf games. I remember this trip we ate seafood just about every night and that was probably my favorite part of this trip. This trip was one I have never forgotten not only because I got to go with my best friend at the time but because we planned enough stuff to keep us busy, but sill also had enough time to relax. After spending a week in Florida, we drove straight to New Orleans for Nationals, this trip was fun but not as fun as Florida because we spent most of our time in a gym playing and didn’t really get anytime to explore the town. The times that we were not in the gym we would go get team dinners. Recently this summer my mom planned a beach vacation to Florida, my little brother had just turned four years old and had been begging my mom to go to the beach. We mostly just relaxed by the beach on this trip and just enjoyed the family time we had before I moved into college. Since my brother is four-year-old we went to ride jet skis, my dad took him to find alligators while me and my mom went shopping, we went to Gulf World to see dolphins’ sea lions and many other animals. My favorite animal was the sealions I’ve always loved them, and I just think they are very fascinating animals. Since my brother loves the beach so much me and him spent a lot of time making sandcastles and jumping the waves in the ocean. This trip was super special to me because it was the first vacation to the beach that we took with my little brother. We made so many special memories together right before I moved away for college and wouldn’t see him as much. My mom and I spent a lot of time trying to plan out the vacation and think of some fun things my brother would love to do while also relaxing by the beach and the pool. My mom has always put so much time and effort into making trips so meaningful and enjoyable to everyone. It not always an easy thing to do because it is hard to please everyone and find something for everyone to do, but she does an amazing job at finding the balance. I hope one day when I am taking family vacations with my kids I can do just as good as a job as she does. I make sure after every vacation I let my mom know how much it all meant to me.
