It all started the second time I went… TO JAMAICA! (Cue sinister music) In the CAR!!!... Ok, fine, it’s not that sinister. But still, at least I was terrified. We were going to a cliff jumping place in Jamaica. I was like 9 at the time so I was probably really annoying in the car. I can remember my brothers shushing me over and over because I talked too much. I was talking about how exited but also how terrified I was. When we got there, It wasn’t really how I imagined.

The whole thing was man made. I thought it was naturally formed but I guess not. So, we walked over to the lowest jump to start with. It was really fun at my age and I did it over and over, but I eventually got bored… and did the exact same thing with the next one! This one was even better than the last because it was a lot taller but not too tall. I had a whole bunch of fun on those two, but there was still one daunting me… telling me to go on…

The Big Cliff. That’s what I called it. It was only twenty feet high. But I was 5! What can I say? I was the most terrified kid on the planet when I got there I was absolutely mortified. Now that I’m 11 going on 12, I am ashamed of that. But again, I was 9. My heart was seeking adventure, while my brain was screaming: DO NOT DO IT! YOU WILL REGRET IT! So, I was kind off in a predicament. It was a weird feeling, while it lasted. I was turning away when… I slipped off.

I was falling, falling for what seemed to be years. I almost hit a few rocks on the way down! It truly felt like I was frozen in time. In that time, I thought, “Am I going to die? Is this the day my parents and brothers and friends will mourn over me and have a funeral? If so,” I thought, “I feel sincerely bad and guilty.

But then I just hit the water harmlessly. I got out and my parents were right there immediately asking if I was okay or if I hit any rocks. Luckily, I had only hit one and there was just a small cut, but I had fallen on my back, so my back REALLY hurt. It hurt for a while, until we left. It was fun, nonetheless. I had jumped off- NOT slipped off- a couple more times.

The rest of the time we were there it was really fun, there was this cool restaurant and it had REALLY good food! I was insanely surprised, and I forgot what I had, all I remember is that it was some of the best food I’d had in Jamaica. I was happy with this trip but I will remember that one cliff jump and tell everyone about it.
