Family is the root of life. My family has influenced my life in more ways than I’ll ever know. Everything I’ve done since I was a little kid is because of the way they have influenced me. Family has a bigger impact on a person than one might even know, they’re always there for me and can help me with things that are hard to deal with. Family will always be there, and they know how to help with difficult things. 89They most likely have been through something similar themselves. I know one thing for sure is that the reason I’m where I am today is because of my family's actions. Everything that has happened in my and my relatives' lives has led me to where I am today. Don’t take those conversations for granted, one day they’ll be gone.

The person with the biggest impact on my life would most definitely be my dad.  He has been there for me since the day I was born.  I know I haven't been the greatest growing up, but he has most definitely helped me become the good person I am today. Since I was little, he has always been hard on me. At the time I didn’t like it, now that I’m older, on the other hand, I am very happy that he did that.  He made me work for things I wanted and made sure I did them well. He once told me that people who don’t work hard for what they want don’t get what they want in return. One time I vacuumed the basement very poorly, so that week he didn’t give me an allowance.  I was pretty upset when it happened, but it taught me that to get what I want, I have to be able to put in the necessary amount of work to receive what I want.  To this day, he’s always teaching me new things and making me a better person.  It doesn’t always come out as the nicest, but he always means the things he says and only says it to make me a better person.  My dad always told me this quote growing up,  “Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.” This quote means that if something is greatly prepared for and you are confident about the outcome, it will prevent failure and bad performance.  He calls this the 7 Ps. My dad's Uncle Joe told him this quote while he was growing up, and he passed it on to me.  My dad’s bother, my Uncle Mike also has a very big impact on my life, probably more than he even knows.

My Uncle Mike, more of an older brother than an uncle.  I say that because when I was born he was only 6 years old, we grew up together, we were best friends. He has always been my best friend and I’ve looked up to him my whole life. He has been the biggest role model for me since I was very little.  He’s taught me so much about everything I know.  Growing up I always wanted to be like him, I thought he was the coolest person ever.  From going to his house or just playing Xbox, there’s never a dull moment.  I enjoy hanging out and spending time with him, we always do something fun. From going to Nascar to going bowling, we’re always finding something to do.  When he was in high school, he was on the bowling team, I always remember going to his tournaments and games.  My grandpa would always buy me chicken tenders and fries. Those are the memories I’m never going to forget.

My mom has had a huge impact on my life, more than anyone else.  Growing up she was a stay-at-home mom, so I was with her all day every day.  She made most of the decisions for me growing up before I could make my own.  She’s influenced me to be who I am, more than she might even know.  She was always there for me and always helped me when I needed it.  When it came to homework, it was hit or miss.  She could help with English and that's about it.  Luckily my dad was good at math and science if I needed the help. She’s still really smart, math just isn’t her strong suit. My mom and I have a fantastic relationship. I’m proud to say me and my mom have never got into an argument before. I’ve only heard my mom yell a handful of times, mostly at my brother, he gets on her nerves. I am close with my mom, I tell her almost everything. I’d be surprised if she didn’t know almost everything about me. She is always there for me when I’m sick and makes sure I’m ok. It always means a lot to have someone to take care of me and help me when I’m sick. My mom has always been here for me and all her kids. It shows me that the kind thing to do is comfort your kids when they’re down and need to help them to get through it or help them get healthier when sick.

Just like a mom, there’s my Aunt Tiffany. Growing up she was always there for me and helped me with so much. If I ever need anyone to talk to about anything, I can always talk to my aunt. She’s one of the nicest people I know and is there for everybody. She’s shown me how to be kind to people that aren’t always the nicest back. She’s also taught me how not to let people push me around and take advantage of me. She’s always treated people with the respect they deserve, people who aren’t kind she wouldn’t respect them, but she would still be kind to them. My aunt has shown me many good things I can pass on to other people and even my kids one day. She always tells the truth, she’s always there for everyone, and she’s always kind. When I needed help on my family tree, I knew who to call, my aunt. She’s always compassionate about helping with projects and helping me get a better grade. I also knew she would know how to help. I needed help finding out the information for her grandparents, and I knew she would know and be able to help. From the time I called her to the time I finished, it was about an hour. Not that it took that long to get all the information, but because we had conversations about it and talked about life. Those are the things that matter the most. That’s one of the things I might never forget. That night I learned more about my family than I ever have before, and it was all because I called my aunt. Those are the little things that mean a lot. The littlest things might give the biggest impact on another person. It’s a good thing to know that I have someone to go to if I ever need help with anything. It means a lot to me, and she probably doesn’t even know.

Family is bigger than anything. The reason I am who I am today is because of family. I know for a fact that without them I would not be the person I am today. Every person in my life has taught me something very important to form who I am today. I love my family and greatly appreciate everything they’ve done for me, it means so much to me. Don’t take any of those opportunities for granted. Tomorrow isn’t promised.
