Aruba was a beautiful place that caused plenty of mischief. It was the fourth day of the vacation, I believe, and I had been looking forward to this day for the past year. We were in Aruba, the most beautiful place I had ever seen. The crystal clear ocean glazed across my feet, a breeze whispering through the tall palm trees as I stood in the middle of the ocean terrified for my life.

My mom was very organized and needed things planned out, she was the type of person that if something didn't go the way she had planned, it would be a disaster and not just on her part but every person along with her. She had a spreadsheet and we knew better than to not follow it. The past days had gone well as we had obeyed all things said, however my mom's picture perfect idea of this vacation was soon going to be destroyed.

It started on March 23. We rushed out of the hotel room to the elevator trying to wait patiently, however, everyone was too excited which stressed my mom out even more than she already was. Once the elevator doors closed and opened back up, we were sprinting out into the lobby. Parents were running around trying to catch their kids and keep them under control. As the Uber rushed into the parking lot, we rushed into the car, frantically putting our seatbelts on. I looked out the window, and saw little shops lining the streets with people gathered around. I saw the big Aruba sign spelled out letter by letter with people lining up to take pictures with it.  The car ride felt long with all the anticipation I was feeling. As I stepped out of the car, I sniffed the warm ocean air, salt going through my body, I was ready.

We trailed onto the boat ready to scuba dive into the sunken ship. I cautiously stepped onto the black looking spider web hovering over the water in the boat, once getting on I remained there for the rest of the way. As I looked below me, fish frantically swam trying to get away from the boat. Bright coral reefs stood out to me as we glazed over the water making our way to the destination. Once we arrived, we were given  huge goggles that covered our whole face, making people look funny. We were also given scuba diving gear that was quite entertaining to watch other people put on. I watched others jump in and take on the adventure. Most of my family sat out on this stop but I was determined to conquer my fears. I was incredibly timid but knew what I had to do. I stopped thinking and jumped in.

The cold water sent a shock through my body, adrenaline rushed through me. As I became more comfortable I began going deeper into the ocean. The ship was massive, the mossy wood growing coral homes for fish all over, it was beautiful but also frightening. The deeper I went the darker it became, black filled my eyes with a slight tunnel of light laying on the sunken ship. It became more quiet by the second, I felt alone, scared. The thought of sharks swimming towards me determined to rip off my body parts sent shivers down my spine. I decided my journey was finished and I would return to the boat.

As I broke through the surface of the water gasping for air I couldn't see the boat so I turned around and couldn't find the boat there either. My mind began to race, where was I? I hadn't thought I traveled too far and the fact there was no boat in sight was incredibly alarming. I did what any kid would do stranded in the middle of the ocean, I panicked. My mind began to race, I couldn't think straight, my lungs closed and would not reopen, I gasped for breath but nothing was coming. I couldn't die, not here, not right now. I had my whole life ahead of me planned out. This could not be happening. Now, it was all about survival.
