My theme song is called ¨Paradise¨ by Coldplay. I chose this song because of the deep meaning behind it that relates to me perfectly. The overall theme of the song is escaping from reality and dreaming of your future or a peace that you have, but you also need to put in the work to achieve your dreams. There will be bad spots on your journey but you need to fight through them. This song really speaks to me on my journey to play college soccer.

The first quote that stood out to me in the text ¨So she ran away in her sleep, And dreamed of para-para-paradise¨. The quote explains that the girl is dreaming of where she wants to be. This connects to me because I dream alot about going to college and playing Division 1 soccer. Just in the same way another quote stood out to me ¨Life goes on it gets so heavy¨. This quote explains that as the girl gets older her dream seems so far away and so hard to achieve. As I went on with my dream and got older it seemed as though it was getting so hard to achieve it. The final quote that stood out to me “She’d say, “oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, I know the sun must set to rise”. This quote is very important to me and the song because it shows that the girl knows that one day she will make it to paradise even though it's hard now. For me what it's basically saying is if you put in all the hard work now you will make it.

I love this song so much because of its meaning and how it relates to me as an athlete. As a kid I always dreamed of going to college and playing soccer. As I got older I learned that it takes a lot of hard work to achieve what I want to accomplish. It got really hard at points where I thought I would never make it because I was not good enough, but I pushed myself and now I am in a good place. I am talking to coaches who seem pretty interested and I am so proud of how far I made it.
