The Ocean. It's a mysterious place that needs to be explored, and that's exactly what i'm planning on doing. Now how can I do that? Explore the wonders of the ocean. Well I can become a Marine Biologist, and I'll tell you how I'm going to do it and how you could do it as well. .

Highschool plays an important role when it comes to being a Marine Biologist. You need to take specific classes that will help you. You don't always have to take them but it will boost your education and prepare you for college. The classes that you would want to take are biology, precalculus, chemistry, and physics. Not only highschool will help, but clubs and internships. Clubs can give you specific education and experience that you might not get during school, and internships will build some of your résumé and teach you skills about the field. Having a good résumé is good considering that Marine Biology is pretty hard to get into. Some jobs may be seasonal, or they could run out of funds, or they could move, and many more interferences. So it's always good to have extra things on your résumé to help you find a good job that you can stick with. Having a wide education can also help with this situation.

The different degrees and levels of education will help you get a better job. I would like to get either my master’s degree or Doctoral degree. The most simplistic degree is a bachelor’s degree. You can make up to 50 grand a year with this degree. It might be harder to find a sturdy job but if this is how far you wanna go then that's fine. Getting your master’s degree will get you into a higher paying job up to 100 grand a year, and you can get a more advanced job in a laboratory or out on the sea. If you want to go further you can get your Doctorate or PHd. You need to have three to five years of experience to study to get this degree. Once you have it, you can either become a teacher for Marine Biology, or conduct research independently. Some schools may offer different courses and different classes. Schools that I'm most interested in are Bangor University, University of St.Andrews, University of Southampton, and University of Groningen. All of these schools are located in Europe. These schools have a wide range of classes you will take to become a marine biologist. Classes and Courses aren't the only thing you need to think about when you become a marine biologist.

Knowing how to Scuba dive and drive a boat is critical to marine biology, how? You will probably be doing a lot of traveling in the ocean and how else would you be able to see fish and identify them if you don't know how to scuba dive?Another thing to think about during this job is how dangerous it is. It is a perilous job that's why you need to know how to properly drive a boat and scuba dive. If things take a wrong turn then you're going to need to know what's going on and what to do. Some dangers to look out for are drowning, but how the weather may act, how fish may act, or a malfunction in anything. The Ocean may be beautiful but it's perilous,

but that doesn't mean we aren't a danger to it as well. My ultimate career goal actually contributes to the danger we are causing to the ocean. I want to figure out how we can reverse the damage we have dealt to the ocean, and teach people more about it. The ocean is 70% of our planet and we have only discovered 5%. The damage that we have dealt to the ocean isn't just pollution, its commercial fishing and downing the population of every sea mammal. While pollution is somewhat getting better, commercial fishing is not. Commercial fishing is where you hunt down a specific species of fish, and you sell a large amount of it, but while people are fishing dolphins, sharks, and other fish have died. It is estimated that in 15 years there will be more than half of the dolphins and sharks population gone. I am determined to help figure out different ways for commercial fishing and help out other things that are endangering our oceans. While the job may come with its ups and downs, living a small dream and knowing that I could have made an impact on the future makes everything 100% worth it. The ocean needs to be explored before we destroy it, and being a Marine Biologist can help me get closer to discovering the many other wonders.
