Persuasive Essay about Bodily Autonomy

Nowadays, the subject that is discussed a lot is a bodily autonomy. Some people think there should be a law that regulates that but others believe something entirely different- bodily autonomy ought to be a personal matter. 

Life can be changeable. We can’t be certain what will happen tomorrow. Right now, someone can be against euthanasia, but the week after they will need it, because they will be terminal ill. Depending on the situation, human can change their opinion. It is natural.  The philosopher Heraclitus said “no man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man”. What it means is we are changing. We and the world around us are going to be different in the near future. 

Government usually pays attention only to staying in power or having control over another person, but they forget that their citizens also can think and they have free-will. People are not programmed robots to obey the orders. Excellent example for that are strikes in Poland in 2020 and 2021, after delegalization of abortion by polish parliament. In Warsaw, almost 100 thousand people participated in a strike. Don't forget that strikes were held in nearly 100 cities in Poland and 20 abroad.  In every one of these places there were an overwhelming amount of people. No one would have ever think that so many human being are capable of gathering together to protect their rights.

Don't forget that human as a specie is extremely intelligent. We know what is the best for us. We are capable to decide about ourselves, because only we know what we have been thought and our mental or financial situation. Why can politicians decide what is the best for us? They are also humans that have really similar lives to us. They shouldn't have a power to control body's of other people. No one should. The only person that can decide about us is ourselves. This is a basic human right.

To conclude, bodily autonomy should be a personal matter, due to unpredictable changes in person’s life, ready people to fight for it and the fact that bodily autonomy is a human right.
