Persuasive Essay Example: Christians Should Have a Duty to God

Christians should have a duty to God. Christians should serve God because it is our faith, God is our creator, and lastly, undesirable events happen in the world, like wars. Christians believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Christians chose to believe in this because it is our faith. Not only did God create us and a world to exist on, but God also created animals, plants, shelter, clothes, food, water, etc. God created everything that we need to survive and so much more. It is human nature for humans to have conflict, and this can cause wars. Wars kill a lot of people and use a lot of resources and money. Sometimes people choose to serve duty to our country. This decision can lead to disaster; Christians should have a duty to God. I say this because of faith, their creator, and their protector.

Faith is complete trust, confidence, reliance, or devotion. Faith is a firm belief in something for which there may be no tangible proof. The Lord is so great and glorious in wisdom, power, and goodness. I believe this because of faith. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" Hebrews 11:1". In the words of The Faithful Spy, "Faith, without action, is no faith at all." If you do not believe, then nothing will come out of it. "But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6. Matthew 21:22 states, "And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive if you have faith." You can ask anything of the Lord, and He will give it to you no matter what it is, just as long as you keep asking or by increasing in faith. Faith is not something you can touch, you might be able to see and hear it from other people, but you have to believe it. Faith is not the only reason why you should serve God before serving our country.

Creation is the original bringing into the existence of the universe by God. According to Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." This statement states that the conditions of the world when God began creating. The only physical evidence that we have from God creating the world is the world. Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created man in his image." Man and woman created in the image of God imply that God has ownership over our lives. Just like how God created the earth, God created man and woman. In the words of the Faithful Spy, on page ten, "It was as if the Lord were right beside him. That states that in good times and bad, God is always by your side. God will always be beside us even if we sin against Him. God will never betray us.

God did not create us flawlessly, and because of that, wars happen. Joel 3:9 states, "Prepare for war! Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack."  Even in the Bible, people had wars; it is human nature to have conflicts with others. On page 15 of The Faithful Spy, it comments, "It crippled my nation," referring to war. War can cost money, resources, and lives; God will only make you stronger. The Faithful Spy once said, "The cost of blood and resources began to grow with each passing year." Our country can not help us, but it can hurt us, but God would never hurt us. I do not know if you believe that we should serve duty to God, but I do.

Faith, creation, and wars are my reasons for believing that we should serve duty to God rather than our country. Do you agree? The most important thing for a Christian is that our first love is God above the love of any country. Putting faith in our countries leaders over God will lead to disaster. Psalms 33:12 states, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."
