Persuasive Essay: Immigration Has More Positive Effects

What exactly does it mean to immigrate? When you immigrate, you move into a different country to live there. There are various reasons on why people immigrate, some being political matters, and others being environmental matters. For Example, if there is a war going on in one country, people might want to immigrate to another country to save themselves. That's why you immigrate.

There are many factors on why immigrating is positive, and I'm here to explain them to you. Immigration helps the economy. Many skilled workers such as doctors, teachers, lawyers, come from immigrating. Immigrants help fill labor needs such as buying goods and services, paying taxes, and other things. Many immigrants are highly skilled too and can  increase the economy even better. Another reason on why immigration is good because it increases cultural diversity. Diversity is good, always has been, and always will be.

A great example on why immigration is positive is in the book we recently read, The Book of Unknown Americans. As we know Alma and Arturo moved to the United States so that their daughter, Maribel could go to a good school and because the U.S. has better medical care. Although it did take a long time Maribel did eventually get better. This is good because it shows that they had to immigrate from their home country to another to seek better opportunities. Another example is in the short story we read called The Wanders. Many of the people in the story immigrated from one country to another because of political reasons. Although others were exiled from it still shows a great way on how immigration is positive. My grandma and grandpa are immigrants, they came from Haiti and went to the U.S. sometime after my mom was born. My grandpa used to be a lawyer but now he’s a teacher and my grandma is a nurse.  I'm not exactly sure on why they came here but I'm pretty sure it was just to live a better life.

Overall, immigration is positive, and there's not really anything negative I can think about it. People immigrate to avoid harsh environments or to just have better opportunities. Many important people come from immigrantion and immigration fuels the economy. People immigrate for better opportunities, a better life, they just want to live the life they were born to live. We shouldn't be rude or treat others unfairly just because they're different, instead we should invite them in, with open arms and embrace their differences.
