Abortion has been a very controversial topic in our society. You can take a life or save a life, which will you choose? Every year in the United States. We all know the different arguments for and against abortion. For example, The argument about my body, my choice, or women who don't want to have the baby because their husband leaves them or they can’t take care of them. Even though people have these reasons for their abortion, there are many ways to get single moms help with their baby, and if a mother doesn’t want the baby, there are so many women who can’t have babies and are waiting to adopt. Why should there be a need for an abortion? The answer is that there shouldn't be; there are no solid facts supporting abortion.

Is abortion murder? The answer is yes, you are taking another human being's life away. This is the main argument of if abortion is bad or good. People have their views and reasons for whether it is good or bad and if it should be legal or not. I’m not going to tell you which side to be on. I’m just going to give you the facts and what I believe in. Abortion is more, if you know that you are going to have a baby, you can see the baby on an ultrasound and it has a beating heart, you are killing a human being. If the innocent killing of babies is not enough, listen to this.

People are waiting to adopt a child right now! Adoption should be the main reason abortion should be illegal. Right now in the United States, waiting periods vary from about 6 months up to several years. We already know that. Becoming a mother is something that every woman dreams of being one day. By outlawing abortion, we could be giving mothers who can’t have a baby, the chance to be a mother.

Abortion not only takes a lot out of your pocket, but can also be dangerous to your health. Most women experience some of the following after an abortion: Bleeding on average lasts 14 days, but can last as long as 21 days. Cramping, dizziness, drowsiness, and Nausea/Vomiting typically resolve within a week, sometimes longer. Two recently-published studies indicate that one induced abortion increases the risk of a subsequent preterm birth by between 25% and 27%. After two or more abortions a woman’s risk of preterm birth increases by between 51% and 62%. This is a very stressful process for the mother and puts her health in jeopardy.

We know the facts about abortion, so why do we still have abortions? If a single mom can’t take care of her baby, there is government support, and if the mother doesn't want her baby, there are plenty of families who would love to adopt a baby and give it a great home. Abortion is also painful. Some even say it’s side effects are more painful than giving birth. Abortion takes a lot out of the pocket. So my final question is, mothers, why would you want an abortion? Why are so many of our political leaders so determined to keep abortion legal?
