Persuasive Essay: Soccer Is Better Than Hockey

Soccer is better than hockey. One reason soccer is better than hockey is that it’s cheaper, it's easier to learn, and everyone can play it. Another reason soccer is better than hockey is because in hockey when you get older you can body check, and it hurts a lot, but if you body check in soccer you will probably get a red card and get kicked out of the game. Here's a fact, did you know there are 265 million people that play soccer and there are only 1.64 million people that play hockey, so it looks like more people like soccer over soccer. 

Another reason soccer is better than hockey is because it’s a fun sport and lots of people don’t have to always have to be so competitive like in hockey you always have to skate your hardest or your coach will get mad and put you on the bench but in soccer your coach will ask you if you want to take a break and if you say your ok you can keep playing. 

Cheaper. The reason it is cheaper is that soccer equipment is only like $200, but if you want to play hockey the equipment is like almost $1500. Another reason is that more people can afford soccer than hockey because it is cheaper, so more poor people can afford soccer over hockey and soccer is like only $500, but hockey is at least $1000. Also, you need a soccer ball for practice and that is at least $40 but if you want to get a hockey stick it is 150 and more. Another reason soccer is cheaper is because you require cleats and cleats are only like 50 to 80 bucks, but hockey skates are like 90 to 150 bucks.  

It is easier to learn. The reason it is easier to learn is that if you are trying to learn different types of soccer tricks they are really easier to learn, but if you're trying to learn hockey skills they are much harder to learn.

Another reason why soccer is easier to learn is because in soccer if you can run and kick a ball you will be able to play soccer but not that good, but if you want to play hockey you have to learn how to skate. A different reason soccer is easier to learn is because if you want to be a soccer goalie you require gloves and skill, but if you want to be a hockey goalie you need lots of padding, and you need to know how to balance on your skates.

Everyone can play it. What I mean by everyone can play it is that little kids as old as 1 can play it, but people that are 1 can probably not play hockey. Another reason is that even disabled people can play like if they are autistic they can still play. Another reason is that people that are like 80 and older are able to play soccer, but I think if you're 80 and older you are not allowed to play in the OHL or NHL.

Conclusion. That is why soccer is better than hockey because it’s cheaper, it is easier to learn and everyone can play. Also, even if you have no skill you can still play with friends or just for fun.
