When thinking through how my best friend would describe me I concluded that they would say Sean has an “ownership mentality” and “embraces a service mindset.” Ownership mentality to me is taking the responsibility for all aspects of my life. When it comes to how I work, no matter how positive or crummy, I will always take ownership of my work. Secondly, “embracing a service mindset” is something that I walk and live by when it comes to serving a community.  To sit in curiosity and genuinely learn about someone’s needs, wants, and desire is to truly embrace a service mindset. When it comes to how my best friend would describe me, I truly believe they would say, Sean, is a man of his word and truly enjoys acts of service helping people grow into their true potential.

In the last 5 years, there have been many ups and downs and curveballs thrown at me. Lots of learnings have come from this, but the most important to me is endurance. I have learned how to push through hard and challenging topics when I cannot see an end in sight. Learning to sit and endure these challenges has helped me grow into who I am today in my personal and professional life. When trials in life can seem all-encompassing and never-ending, I have learned to endure in the Lord and trust that he will open and close the right doors.  I have carried endurance with me each day after learning how to sit and struggle with the challenging topics, times, and situations and not give up. Lastly, endurance has been the most important learning in my life because endurance produces character, and character produces hope.

The first thing that pops into my head when I think of learning, is sitting in a classroom listening to a lecture, and taking notes. This type of learning is useful for most but I am more of a hands-on learner. I love to be in the thick of it when it comes to learning, and actually doing the work. I have noticed that the times I learn the most are when I am hands-on. I think that there are reams of fruit when learning new methods to just be an active listener and internalize everything being said. Once you can do this, you can put the learning into your hands and actively learn. This is where I have found that I retain information the best when I can actively listen, and then put hands-on to fully understand the process from end to end. Lastly, to always have curiosity is a love for learning and diving into new and exciting topics.

One of my main values in life is to serve. This is threefold, serving the Lord, my family, and a community. First, as you may know, the Lord is number one in my life, and my biggest value is to serve the Lord with all my heart and to love a generation that needs Jesus. Second, as being younger than most, I tend to think about the future and how I can serve my future wife and kids. Last, a community, I have always had a heart that wants to pour into a community in every capacity. This goes from a work community to my local community. I believe that when a service mindset and heart for growth are at the forefront of our minds,  we can truly hear people's needs with an open mind and truly sympathize with them, and serve their needs and not our own.

The Jordan Terrell Group is a company that I can see cares deeply about their people, and not just on a work level but a personal level. The fact that when you look up the Jordan Terrell Group and the first thing you see is, “...we are a community-based company that happens to sell real estate,”  I was truly so impressed and established admiration for the company as a whole. To me, working for a company that puts the personal growth of its employees first is a company I can get behind in all aspects of life. I have noticed that I thrive in a company when the directors and the owner of the company are always personal, real, raw, and curious to learn more about me. Since my first interview with the Jordan Terrell Group, I have noticed that this is the mindset everyone at the Jordan Terrell Group embraces. Selling real estate for a company that truly wants to learn more about me and pour into my life in the most genuine way is a company I want to work for and pour into for a very long time. I believe that the Jordan Terrell Group’s values and my personal values align, which makes for an incredible place to grow.
