Reflective Essay about Positive Perspective on Life

Research has proven that having a more positive perspective has lowered stress levels for individuals. Many people do not work well when they are experiencing stress. This is why it is important to always have a bright outlook when facing difficulties in life because stress can lead to a decline in your health. A person's perspective can determine their destiny because people who have a more positive outlook on life accomplish more, and the individuals who have more of a negative attitude or negatively treat others usually face obstacles that affect their success. Hope for the better in times of need is the key to success, which is why Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was very optimistic during the Civil Rights Movement. According to Britannica, Martin Luther King Jr. gathered protesters to support the fact that African Americans and other people of color were facing racial segregation. Even though Martin Luther King was arrested constantly for participating in and leading these acts, he never gave up. Based on what is provided in many bibliographies, individuals can determine Martin Luther King Jr. had a very strong and positive perspective in leading people to be freed from the effects of racism. His determination led to his movement being successful, which is why his outlook influences their destiny. According to a biography written about Martin Luther King Jr, he reached his destiny when The Civil Rights Act was passed and people of color were given the right to vote. The Civil Rights Act protected people of color in the workforce and schools. Martin Luther King's actions influenced many students, and even today kids are taught about his impact in politics and his involvement in the church. Mr. King's influence on minorities can determine right from wrong when it comes to their jobs and in school. In a quote by Martin Luther King, he says "I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear." This declares that Martin Luther King Jr. believed that it was best to feel motivated through love. His love would later impact the United States; he also believed that hate was never the answer and that it only held people down. Martin Luther King Jr.'s positive perspective not only led to his destiny but for the rest of the visible minority, even when he was given harsh obstacles. Martin Luther King Jr’s imperturbable behavior did not allow for stress to occur especially dealing with all the issues he planned to resolve; he still accomplished many things and protected future generations in the U.S. Having a confident outlook will begin the road to your fate. Personally, the times where I've lacked confidence, I played my worst in softball. At that time, I would let my nerves get to me. However, when I was feeling confident, I was batting better, fielded better, and ran better. It is important to have a confident outlook because if you are not confident, people will realize how upset your mistakes make you, which would help people determine your weakness. Since I learned that I must be confident to reach what I consider my destiny, I have not focused on the negative as much as I used to. Me getting stressed over something so little can cause me to continue to say “I can’t do it” leading my self-esteem to drop, and so as my mental health.  In The Hobbit, Bilbo, who was a small Hobbit, went on an adventure that would decide life or death for him and the dwarves, who invited Bilbo to go on this adventure. He struggled with confidence since the dwarves were constantly putting in his mind that he was useless and just a burglar. Bilbo regained his confidence when he was allowed to have a dagger. Which he used as a guide to freedom from the spiders and being captured by other evil creatures in the story. Bilbo's confident outlook after receiving the dagger showed the Dwarves how brave he was, and they later told him how grateful they were for having Bilbo on this adventure with them. Bilbo’s destiny was that he found his purpose and others noticed too. He not only gained their trust in him but his worthiness. Having a bright outlook will give you higher chances of succeeding in life and reaching your destiny. Letting obstacles grab a hold of you will not only cause you to fail but lower your determination in the meantime. This is why Martin Luther King continued to lift others and himself so everyone could reach the destiny of being free from segregation. Do not let other people's negativity ruin your chances of succeeding. You can learn this from your own experience or by listening to others sharing their stories. Many situations can occur along the road to your destiny. These situations will contain people that go against you or objects that will stop you in the tracks of your fate. If you choose to ignore these negative situations, you will be granted prosperity from your hopefulness through the adventure. If you carry more enthusiasm then your fate will reflect on it.
