When most of us are young we have dreams or false ideas of what we want to do when we grow up whether it's being an astronaut or climbing the world's tallest mountain it's usually something we grow out of. Every year hundreds of people attempt to climb Mt Everest, they put their lives and thousands of dollars into reaching the summit for what seems to be a mediocre reward. Mt Everest used to be about a skilled climber putting himself or herself through the ultimate test of tackling the world's largest mountain, but now that climbing has become so commercialized it seems anyone can pay to do what took these people years to work up to.Commercial climbing should be disbanded from Everest because rookie climbers have an unpredictable impact on the mountain for the future, some of which are already noticeable, to keep letting these people climb would be wrong.

Allowing people to pay a few thousand dollars and simply climb Mt Everest could cause more harm than good, letting someone who doesn't know a thing about how to conduct themselves on a mountain shouldn't be there in the first place. Even the Nepal ministry of tourism believes that continuation of commercial climbing is wrong, it may be a supporting factor in tier economy but at what cost. Mohan Sapkota said¨Novice climbers are actually a liability to others which can be the difference between life and death when climbers are on the edge of exhaustion at high altitude¨(kandoo Adventures). This is a major issue nowadays; years ago before Everest became a commercial climb only the very best were able to climb the mountain even then it was still a risk, allowing anyone to attempt the climb shouldn't be allowed for safety purposes at least. With the recent influx of commercial climbing people are attempting Everest in mass numbers only the best mountaineers should be able to climb  Everest.

Allowing so many people to climb Everest is putting others in danger as well, this needs to be stopped, if not to save lives then to preserve the mountain at least.Besides the Nepal government, even others see Everest as a risk for the inexperienced, as quoted ¨For many commercial operators, the possibility of yet another preventable mass casualty event on Everest looms as large as the mountain itself¨(Business Insider).Yet again this shows that even experienced climbers are against comercial climbing, they understand that allowing these people to continuously come to the mountain is just as bad as letting them kill themselves.Every year the death toll on Everest extends, it has to be stopped, the slopes are already littered with corpses; we shouldn't keep adding to that number.

The conditions to climb Everest are in short supply, there is only about an eleven day period things are safe enough; with the addition of the commercial climbers things get increasingly difficult. Commercial climbers are the main deaths seen as of recent years we can not just act like its ok to just send them off to their death ¨A limited number of days, too many people, too many inexperienced people, inadequate support — those all things all came together and that's where we saw most of the deaths¨ (Arnette, Business Insider). This quote gives some great examples on what is needed to climb Everest whether it be support, time, or experience, these ¨pay to play¨ climbers don't understand any of that and mistakes get people killed at those altitudes. Letting them climb is dangerous and should be disbanded. These novice climbers are apart of the reason Everest is filled with so many dead bodies it's time we stop them from climbing for good.

But not everything is that grim there are a few good things if you look close enough. This article gives this reasoning for climbing everest with little evidence to back it up. ¨You will meet the most amazing people who you will call friends, hikers and climbers are an awesome breed of people¨( The ENVIORMENTOR). This quote and all the others from this website give an unrealistic Everest experience, the entire article seems to be a fluff piece. Climbing Everest to meet people isn't a good reason if you want to meet people, go out somewhere and socialize, don't risk your life climbing one of the deadliest mountains in the world.

This quote and all the others from this website give an unrealistic Everest experience, the entire article seems to be a fluff piece. Climbing Everest to meet people isn't a good reason if you want to meet people, go out somewhere and socialize, don't risk your life climbing one of the deadliest mountains in the world. Everest may have been a dream when you were little but to be realistic the chances of death, lack of experience, and short time frame should be enough to make you steer clear. If you still want to risk all that you have for something that most describe as an indifferent experience, spend a few years climbing and begin to understand it better. Think before you act on impulse, your life is worth more than you think don't let Everest claim you as it has so many before.
