Reflective Essay: Teaching is A Difficult Job
The job of a teacher may seem easy at first glance. They work from eight to three five days a week. Weekends and summers off too. All day long they sit at a desk teaching kids. So, what is so difficult about that? Teachers, however, have one of the toughest jobs in the world. Teaching is more than just being a teacher; it's just like being a parent to 20 to 30 children, watching them grow and learn together.
Teacher's responsibilities extend beyond what can be seen with the naked eye. Teachers can sometimes serve as friends or parents to their students. Teachers have the privilege of being able to have such a positive impact on children. for instance, if there were no teachers, we wouldn’t be in the world we are today. because without teachers we wouldn’t have Dr’s., officers, lawyers, nurses, or teachers. Someone has to teach others how to become a lawyer or nurse or therapist. I guess you can say that they are what makes the world go round.
When I was in middle school, I had this one math teacher. I can never forget her. She was one of the nicest teachers I could have ever meet. She wasn’t just a great teacher. she was also a role model for. She thought me not just how to work my math problems. But to understand the process to get the answer. She thought me how much a teacher actually cares about their kids. She also made me realize that being a teacher is one of the hardest jobs there is. And how being a teacher to children is a great blessing. She is the reason why I choose to go get a degree in teaching.
You hear teachers say, “being a teacher doesn’t pay”. But why? Take a minute and think about what was just said. If teachers really don’t get paid good for the time and work, they put in our children. Then we as a society have our priorities mixed up. They are the ones who teach us and our children and so on. How to become who we are and who we want to become. Without teachers there would be no tomorrow. Because we wouldn’t have new Dr. or lawyers. Being a teacher is so much more than just teaching. It’s a big part of our lives. Making an impact on someone who needs it the most. Given the time to care for a child and watching them grow. Learning new things as they go on through their day. And watching them grow into young adults. Looking back at all the thing they learned. Being a teacher is like being a parent to every one of the children.
For some kids coming to school is a way to get away from things at home. And having a teacher that takes time to show that they are there, and they care for them. This is why they say teachers don’t do it for the money. because there isn’t enough money in the world to pay a good teacher that care and engages with their students. And want to make in impact on children’s life’s They put so much time and their life into helping our children to become the future generation. And ones to come.
