Did you ever wonder how religion has a profound impact on our lives? I am a Christian and I am going to answer that question. Religion is part of our lives. As a Christian, religion gives us a purpose to live life to the fullest. It gives us a reason to know how to behave in society. How to belong.

Many people disregard religion and its importance, but many people also live because of religion. The value of having a religion means that you have something you believe and a sense of meaning to live by every day. We, as Christians, believe that God gave us life to seek a purpose. That is why we get up every morning, make a cup of coffee, shower, and eat. We do things every day to survive and have a purpose. It is a matter of how life works for us Christians, and religion is the reason why we are living. Next, it gives people something to believe in, because when we truly believe something, it profoundly influences our actions. These actions can then exert a powerful influence on the beliefs of others. Then, religion provides a sense of structure and typically offers a group of people to connect with over similar beliefs. To an observer, it seems unlikely that an individual would be willing to die for a belief that she didn’t have very good grounds to believe was true. Those who share a common set of beliefs will come to believe in a common set of actions that are in their interests. They will generally become socially bonded by those shared beliefs and actions. As a Christian, when we visit a church, it feels like all the people who are attending, even if we don't know each other, have a sense of bond because we believe in the same God and practice the same rituals and actions as every Christian does. Religion teaches us how to behave and live. For us Christians, we follow the ten commandments every day of our lives, which God gave us. One of the commandments written is that we are not allowed to take away someone's life. It is an immoral act and cannot be replaced. Because only God has the right to take and give life. For that matter, it teaches us to be kind every day, to be patient and not be easily swayed by evil doings. Lastly, religion gives people a sense of belonging. Through religion, we felt like we belonged. Christians believe belonging means being accepted. To belong is to feel secure. Without belonging, we are alone. As humans, our greatest desire is to know and be known, to love and be loved, and to feel confident that those who know and love us will be there for us through joy and trouble. Moreover, religion gives people a personal identity. Being identified as a Christian by another Christian feels like you belong.

Religion is part of our everyday lives. We exist because of religion. It has a significant role in our society and people's lives. Religion is as important as our lives. Because it provides us with a sense of meaning to live everyday, it gives people something to believe in,  provides a sense of structure with other people, guides people how to behave and act, and a sense of belonging. Faith, in things we cannot see, isn't foolish; it's where we find truth and meaning. Love is real. Good and evil are real. We have faith and believe because there are some things we know to be true but cannot prove."I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because through it I see everything else." —C.S. Lewis.
