The renaissance was the time when people started to come out of their dark ages. A time when inventions were made, art was created, theories and philosophies of life were concepted.  This was a time where all of culture and lifestyle started to drastically change.  During this time, many great geniuses, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Petrarch, emerged with new ideas, perspectives, and art. If it weren’t for the geniuses of renaissance, we wouldn’t have half of the things we own today.

Around the 1300’s the people were in a time called the dark ages, there was little growth in anything. This was because of the poor economical stature, where there were the rich rulers, who were given plots of land as their kingdom. When they died, they divided the land amongst his children. This eventually became problematic because eventually the descendants were basically given charge of a small village. This divided everyone apart, because the kingdoms’ only other way to gain land was to conquer it. This caused constant battles and wars. Not allowing for people to grow in any other way, except war tactics. The lower people, called peasants, made up 90% of the people. These people were worked to the bone, with little to no payment. Very few people lived past 40, due to their weak knowledge of medicine. Almost 0% of the population was literate or educated. Eventually, around the 1400’s, the spark that would start the burning fire for knowledge, was started in Italy, by Petrarch. He believed that the people should strive to reach their full potential, live a life based off of ethics and seek ways to rationally solve problems. This spread quickly and brought importance to the people and not just their social status. Many of the people that accepted it started to learn and grow mentally. Schools and libraries began to be set up, and many great thinkers' ideas started to become widespread. Such as Johannes Gutenburg, who created the first printing press, this invention made it easier for writings and books to be copied and spread throughout the world. Because of these early geniuses, like Petrarch the world was removed from the dark ages and reborn into the renaissance.

There were many insanely intelligent people that rose up throughout the time of the renaissance. These people have opened doors in mathematics, science, health care, philosophy, and architecture. Coming up with new ways to solve problems or achieve goals.  Such as Johann Gutenberg, he had a large solution to illiteracy. The printing press was his most well known invention, because it allowed people to copy books much faster and easier. This enabled an easier spread of information all over the world. This made it possible for information to be widespread, and shared. Allowing many people to grow in their knowledge and thrive in this new time.

Another great genius of all sorts was Leonardo Da Vinci, he had many different jobs that he did such as, sculptor, architect, inventor, military engineer, and renaissance painter. He made so many advanced predictions and thought up so many concepts that were later found out to be mostly true. He made drawings of helicopters and other flying machines, and even thought about the concentration of solar power. This man also created many amazing drawings on the anatomy of the human body. Even though he achieved this by dissecting unclaimed bodies, the people learned from them to greatly increase their knowledge of the human body. These drawings could have led to new forms of medicine or treatment to injuries. He also made great works of art such as The Last Supper and The Mona Lisa. All of these conceptions, inventions, paintings, and drawings have helped not only the people of his time but also our time. His inventions made people have ideas that would spout off of the original and create something new, and then this one would also be worked on and improved and overtime things would branch off of that. His drawings have been a part of how we know what the human body looks like today. People used Leonardo’s drawings as a guide and then later added more knowledge to it. These Inventors were great people of the past, encouraging the world to grow in it’s rebirth . Now we still celebrate those people because without them, we might not be where we are today.

These inventors, first of all, were the firestarters of the renaissance, coming up with new mind growing ideas and led by example of what the people of their time should strive to do. They left behind legacies that the people after them were able to learn from and grow off of. They encouraged people to think deeply and logically. Use their own discrimination to decide what is right and what is wrong. The people also strived to become better and smarter because of the idea of humanism. It promoted the idea that they should strive to become better people and seek ways to rationally solve problems. This encouraged them to want to learn more, and grow in this new supportive community. Over time this rebirth grew and grew leading to the exploration of new land, unity of nations, countless inventions that made living life easier, many artistic creations and literary artworks were made and displayed. This continued the growth of humanity until the point of our lives now.

Without the renaissance we would be pretty behind in many things. These inventors made multiple pathways for people to grow and learn on. The people went down these pathways learning and thriving off of them, and then learning from them to create something inspired by it, creating yet another pathway. This continued making pathways of curiosity for people to grow and learn off of bringing us to where we are today.  In conclusion without the renaissance we would not be even close to where we are today.
