College Education. It’s accepted around the world. It is prepared and shown in different ways. From a teacher instructing a whole class to private lessons, to online school. Every person has a different experience with education. We also have different reasons why we need education. Some of us, like me, are first-generation students, meaning we are the first in our family to go to college. They are a lot of students who also need it to leave their home country. Education has a different meaning everywhere. College  Education in our Democratic community is a means for us to get more students into jobs that are much needed. As of 2021, according to Study.com, the top three jobs that are in high demand are Wind Turbin electricians, Nurse Practitioners, and Real Estate Agents and Brokers. Compared to 2015, Military.com, Truck Drivers, Customer Service Representatives, and Sales Managers were the top three back then. That’s a five-year difference. Circumstances changed that. This is why we see a difference in education and from year to year we see a higher demand of education being aksed of students. In my experience, education is something that my family never got. My mom and dad only got to go to school for 3 years. They did everything they could and got me and my siblings to the US to make sure we had the education we needed to achieve our dreams. In my culture, as Africans, we see education as a way out and something we can’t take for granted.   With education, we could do anything and become anything. But the type of education and the way it’s taught plays a role. Freire, Cronon, and Glass all had their own opinions of education and how it is taught. In Chapter two, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Freire contrasts two models of education, banking method, in which students memorize content and notes given to them by the teacher, and contrasts it with problem-posing education, where teacher and students work together to make each other understand the content that is given. The most important reason he's trying to teach us is that times have changed. Students are more and more inclined to cheat and get a grade that doesn't suit them. Teachers need to do a better job of teaching whatever they are teaching. He is writing to an audience yes, but what specific one? Teachers. The paper was written in 1968, so maybe he is based on how he was taught, but it still doesn't change the fact that more teachers are less inclined to care about the students and are focused on moire getting the content out there. Freire had me thinking if we as a country want to get more people into jobs, why do we resort to a  banking system? This guarantee’s us that the more people who are gonna graduate from college won’t be as qualified as we want them to be. All schools have different expectations for graduation but sometimes the expectations are not needed. Education is only as good as it is taught. If we are given too much, it’s gonna overwhelm us and we will resort to cheating. There’s the need’s to be a balance between notes, and homework. Students all have a different way and the amount of time they are getting for homework. Students who take AP classes generally have more homework than other students, but that’s because some schools have limited classes, and students are forced to take AP classes as there are several courses you needed to be enrolled in school. Education in the US is very different from other countries. Freire’s concept if education connects to the purpose of college education today because college now is all about taking notes, studying them, and having an exam on them. I can relate this to Ivy League schools. They are the most competitive schools in the world. The education system in these schools is very different from any other. More rigorous courses, more homework, and more notes need to be taken.
