Since humanity said hello to the world, individuals had to face many challenges such as slavery, climate change, world wars, pandemics, etc. The upshot of a fundamentally new level of interaction between people, nature, and society was global problems that are caused by the expansion of human needs and the massive size of economic activity. However, history has proven that with proper and accurate leadership at the right time, the challenges of society can be overcome. From the inspiring quote of Aristotle about democracy, “Democracy is the form of government in which the free are the ruler,” until such time as today, people have been looking for an ideal government to save their country and themselves from these threatening events. Truthfully, there is no such thing as an ideal government. However, the United States democracy has demonstrated its power for over 233 years. Since it is a representation of citizens' power in a country, the democratic system represents the most appropriate type of authority at a time to deal with and prevent global challenges. The particular reason for the circumstance is that individual elites wealth dominance are not educated nor wise enough to rule a city, especially at critical times. Another reason is how an oligarchy, a system of government where the power is in the hand of rich men and the poor do not participate in the ruling, tend to lessen the moral values and virtue of the state, resulting in the chaos of the people and thereby the unsolved problems.

Plato has explained and clarified the characteristics of democracy and oligarchy in his masterpiece, The Republic. An oligarchy patriozes money above all else; the “money-lovers” rule and the poor must submit. This is an issue. Because wealthy people are not always well-educated or smart, and when power is concentrated in the hands of non-virtuous people, the wealthy will seek to increase their wealth, while the poor may become even poorer in the state. As a result, revolutions and civil wars break out among the citizens (Plato, 561b). A real-life example of this scenario is true in my home country, Iran. Although Iran is a system of government know as the combination of democracy and republic; the World Population View has announced recently that Iran is actually a military oligarchy. The newly elected president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi has a net worth of over $53 million, which is an abnormal amount of money in Iran, according to The Personage. However, he has only completed middle school and he does not possess a high school diploma. By taking an attentively look at his interviews with foreign ministers, people understand how he can not even speak properly. Even though he found a way to be in power, successful, and became one of the richest people in Iran, he simply lacks to fulfill one of the needed criteria for ruling a country, education. As a result, he and his cabinet have not been able to solve some of the uncomplicated problems since they took the office. This scheme is true everywhere, the rulers of a country cannot be uneducated. It is essential that an individual must have a degree in the specialty in which they wish to rule. Otherwise, the injustice between citizens began to rise, as Plato stated that “a community cannot hold riches with honor while still instilling sufficient self-control in its inhabitants,” (576 a).

Comparatively, if we look at the education and degrees of the past and recent US presidents, we can see they have at least completed a law/politics degree from some of the best universities around the country and it has clearly helped them overcome some challenges inj areas such as international affairs, economic collapses, etc. since they had a basic understanding of the situation going on.
