We citizens have a role in the criminal justice system. Our role is very important in the criminal justice system. Our role is important not only in the criminal justice system but other things too. Citizens do a lot more than you might think. I will inform you about the role of citizens in the criminal justice system is and how citizens ensure a fair and equal system for all.

Like I said before, citizens play a very big role in the criminal justice system. Citizens can vote for judges and sheriffs. In some cases, they can be elected a juror. Although there is about a one-tenth chance of being picked for the jury it is a very educational experience. When on the jury it is very important not to blandly just say the criminal is guilty. The jury members should put thought into it.

Citizens not only go on jury duty but also have many other roles. One role is electing sheriffs. Not everyone votes but it is our duty to give our counties and cities protection from the best of the best. We do not only elect sheriffs but we can also vote for new laws in the criminal justice system. It is our role to vote, and work as a juror if needed.

Citizens also must provide and ensure a fair and equal system. The first way and one of the more important ways is being a juror. Being a juror is very important because you might make the decision between life or death for a criminal. If you do research and aren't careless in the jury then this makes the system fair and equal. Another way is voting. Voting is very important and is our role as a citizen. We must pick the right leaders and think things through.
