So you see. Schools like to have things under control. They keep trying so hard to create the perfect learning environment for their students. Hmm, we can accept that at some point.

The deal is that schools should be a functional learning environment where everyone can express themselves and stand out for their ideas in whatever way they choose to.  This way of showing "discipline" by dres's coding girls for maybe having a shoulder out or wearing ripped jeans is not only a conservative way of thinking, but it's also promoting misogynistic ideas.

On the other hand, they also have their advantages. They not only reduce peer pressure but can also help to reduce bullying. Competition between students over clothing choices and teasing of those dressed in less costly or less fashionable and trendy outfits can be eliminated when all of the students dress similarly.

However, school uniforms do not stop bullying. School uniforms promote conformity over individuality. The ultimate socializer to crush rebellion is conformity in appearance. If a school system starts at clothes, where does it end?

School uniforms also make it easier to keep track of students on field trips and make intruders more visible, as they discourage students from concealing weapons under baggy clothes.

On the other hand, school uniforms restrict students’ freedom of expression. Clothing is a crucial form of self-expression. In this case, by being able to express ourselves through clothes, society will be able to normalize the concept of "looking different" and getting to know someone that you have never thought of talking to just because of their appearance. School projects can make this happen by using team works and group projects. They will start getting used to the fact that everyone has the power to do whatever they want with their bodies and their looks.   In most cases, the way that people dress does not define their true potentials and their personality.

In conclusion, I must say that school uniforms may have been one of the best solutions back in time when bullying reached its peak. But we live in the 21 century. Living with old concepts will not just make it harder for us to move on and find our ways through emancipation but it will also lead to more complicated situations.
