Many people don’t realize how big of an issue sugar can be later on in life. Many sources inform us about the major health issues in teenagers due to the amount of sugar intake. Teenagers' health is affected by sugar in negative ways because it can lead to a bunch of health problems.

One way teenagers' health is negatively affected by sugar is obesity, this is one of the biggest health risks. For example, this is shown when it says, “Research has found strong associations between increases in advertising for non-nutritious foods and rates of childhood obesity.” (Paragraph 2) There is a similarity in advertisements for non-nutritious foods and the rate of childhood obesity. This quote shows, SOme of the negative side effects of sugar and how they affect us. This quote demonstrates how sugar is not a good thing and how it negatively affects us. Along with obesity come out several other health problems. 

Another way teenagers' health is affected by sugar in a negative way is health, diabetes, and high blood sugar. This is supported when it says,  “There are 146 ways in which sugar affects your health. Some of these include hyperactivity, anxiety, difficulty concentrating and crankiness in children. Sugar also contributes to food allergies, reduced defense against bacterial infections, increased cholesterol, diabetes and cardiovascular disease( Paragraph 2).”  Increased cholesterol, diabetes and cardiovascular disease are some of the negative risks in teenagers with sugar. This quote shows that there are over 100 ways that sugar affects teenagers' health, this is from hyperactivity, anxiety, and diabetes. This quote demonstrates how, there are many different ways that sugar can negatively affect tenenagers health.  Even though the negatives weigh out the positives some people still believe that it's mainly a good thing. 

Natural sugars are beneficial as they provide the body with nessarasy sugar, however the body doesn't need the refined sugar that's in everything.  This is shown when it says, “Diets high in refined sugar and saturated fat not only contribute to weight gain and associated health issues, but also have a profoundly detrimental impact on brain function.” (Paragraph 3)   In other words, a diet high in refined sugar and saturated fat contributes to weight gain. This quote shows that the sugars not only make you gain weight but it can also be associated with health issues. This quote demonstrates, How the negatives of sugar outway the positives in many ways. 

There are so many ways that teenagers' health is negatively affected by sugar. There are so many sources that we can get information to show the negative effects of sugar on teenagers. Many people don't look at the side effects of sugar.
