Sweden and Thailand's relationship began in 1863 when The Treaty of Friendship, Commerce, and Navigation, was signed. Five years later diplomatic relations were established. Sweden has an embassy in Bangkok and also has consulates in Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phetchaburi, and Phuket. Thailand has an embassy in Stockholm.
